Coley Home Spotlight: Huff Harrington Design

Meet the creatives behind Huff Harrington Design! Recently featured in The Atlanta Home For The Holidays Show House, we adore their fresh yet traditional spaces. They masterfully blend the old with the new and we love following along to see what they're designing next. Read on to see how they styled their Coley Home piece in the show house. Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today!  Trudy was born and raised in Piqua, Ohio, though people are often surprised I’m not a born and bred Southern belle. I currently lead Huff Harrington Design as Lead Designer, where I bring a refined design sensibility, thoughtful approach, and a little optimism to every project. Before fully stepping into interiors, I honed my spacial design skills through l leadership roles with brands including Gap, Spanx, and Serena & Lily. Frequent trips to France – where I assist with international design projects and installations – have shaped my signature approach: blending old and new with a playful, unexpected twist. Outside the office, you’ll often find me strolling Chastain Park with my handsome Lab, Beau, or enjoying a lively dinner out with my husband, glass of bubbly in hand. Emma Caroline Lee has spent years with Huff Harrington honing her eye through countless design projects. Prior to that she tackled the world of luxury PR launching fine art, fashion and hospitality brands in Atlanta. While her heart lies with traditional themes she loves to create a mix and to elevate designs through fabrics and custom pieces, building a story around our clients’ existing furnishings. Her love of classic and traditional design is a perfect complement to the Huff Harrington mix of antique and modern. When she’s not designing, you can find her spending time with her adorable young family or traveling. One of the most meaningful parts of our work is connecting with clients. We take the time to really listen, understand their stories and the pieces they love, and translate their vision into spaces that feel personal, sophisticated, and always chic. You recently selected 2 Twin Claremont Beds - Charles with a fabulous brushed fringe. Walk us through the design process! One of the elements that grounded the design of the room from the very beginning was a fabulous imported antique settee we found in the South of France. Its sassy curves immediately set the tone, so it was important for us to find bed frames that echoed that curvy softness – the Charles did just that. As with any successful space, the devil is in the details. We had the most fun marrying the bed frames and settee through coordinating fabrics - ultimately choosing a stripe for the beds to bring in a tailored note. To soften the structured stripe - and of course adding a touch of unexpectedness - we finished the headboards with a brushed fringe trim from Samuel & Sons. Layered against the Farrow & Ball high-gloss walls, the subtle movement and texture was the perfect final touch, elevating the beds while tying the entire room together beautifully.  The Claremont bed - Charles How would you describe your style? Classic at its core, with a deep reverence for both contemporary and antique influences.  You have a design branch in both Atlanta and Paris. Do you often try to incorporate European influences throughout your design projects in the US?  It truly works both ways – we’re constantly inspired by both sides of the pond. That said, there’s something especially compelling about incorporating a piece of French history into our state-side projects. A beautiful European antique has an effortless way of adding depth, soul and a bit of “crunch” when layered into a modern or traditional home. We always aim for a home that feels classic and lived-in.   If you had to pick one, what is your favorite project to date?    That’s a difficult question, as each project is deeply personal to each client. Knowing their story, understanding the heirlooms they cherish, and creating designs that reflect their lives make every project meaningful in its own way. What aspect of Parisian lifestyle do you adopt in your everyday life?   I’ve always admired the ease of the French lifestyle – lingering over meals, choosing quality over quantity, and treating everyday rituals as small indulgences. And of course, there’s the skincare… a daily reminder that a good cream can, in fact, solve almost everything!  What’s a wallpaper or fabric you are dying to use in a project?  Tough question because there are so many that are on our radar but I recently stumbled across the most adorable wallpaper by Jordan Connelly  that would be the perfect addition to a  family vacation home. Favorite coffee table book? Well, at the moment , we are gushing over the most recent Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle magazine because Huff Harrington Design made the cover! What is your most requested design feature?   ‘The Mix’ of new  & old The mix – layering new with old to create spaces that feel collected, not decorated. It’s about balancing contemporary pieces with character-rich antiques to achieve spaces that are timeless, personal, and truly lived-in.

Coley Home Spotlight: Megan Molten

Meet Megan! Based in Charleston, SC, she's the Founder and Chief Creative Director of Megan Molten Design + Shop. With her signature mix of modern flair and Southern charm, Megan creates bright, welcoming spaces that feel like home. We’re obsessed with her eye for detail and love how she brought her Coley Home favorites to life in her serene, family-friendly living room. Tell us about yourself and your journey to a successful interior design business and storefront! I studied business and marketing in school and, right out of college, landed a great job in medical sales. I spent 12 years in that industry, which gave me the opportunity to purchase my first home on my own. When I started designing and decorating my home, I shared the process on social media, and to my surprise, people loved it! I never realized I had a distinct style until I started receiving such a positive response. Around that time—when I was 31 or 32—many of my friends were also buying their first homes and asking for my help. We were all working with tight budgets, but I documented every project, sharing before-and-afters on social media. Again, people really responded to my aesthetic, and that’s when it started to click for me—I truly loved design. I never imagined it would become my career, but as I started taking on paid clients in addition to my full-time job, I realized: Wait, this is what I love. My corporate job? Not so much. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Charleston was booming, especially during COVID, and people were moving here in droves. I was able to establish a strong brand and a signature design aesthetic, which has been key to our success. It’s authentic to who I am and what we do, and I think people are drawn to that. Today, we have a luxury interior design business serving Charleston and beyond, as well as a retail store—both a brick-and-mortar location and an online shop. We’ve also expanded to include a warehouse where we manage our online store and house merchandise for our design clients. And beyond that, we have licensed collections in lighting, mirrors, wallpaper, and more to come! What’s your starting point when designing a living room? Do you typically begin with furniture, color, or something else? Lately, we’ve been starting with wallpaper, paint, or a fabric print because clients are craving color more than ever. Once we establish that focal point, the rest of the room naturally falls into place. How do you find the balance between aesthetics and functionality when designing frequently used spaces like living rooms? These days, performance fabric is a must. Almost all of our clients expect it on their upholstery—it’s just become standard. The great thing about working with a designer is that we have access to an incredible variety of high-end performance fabrics that aren’t available to the average consumer. So, we can create spaces that are both beautiful and incredibly durable. Our clients have kids, grandkids, pets—they live an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, especially here in Charleston. Everything we design has to stand up to that while still looking stunning. It’s all about finding that perfect balance of style and function. What is one design element or trend you always try to incorporate into your projects, no matter the size or scope? When clients hire us, they expect creativity and personalization. It’s our job to push them beyond their comfort zone and introduce ideas they wouldn’t have considered on their own. That’s part of the value we bring! We don’t want to do what everyone else is doing—we want to create something fresh, unique, and exciting. What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? Lighting—splurge always! It’s like jewelry for your home. You want the real thing, not the knockoff. There’s a noticeable difference between good lighting and bad lighting, and if you cut corners here, it shows. For key spaces like kitchen pendants, dining room chandeliers, and powder bath sconces, invest in high-quality lighting—it makes all the difference. But in areas like guest rooms, guest baths, and kids’ rooms, you can save by opting for stylish but more affordable options, like Mitzi lighting. Another area where you should never skimp? Upholstery. Your main furniture pieces—your sofa, your chairs—these are things you use every single day. It’s like a mattress; you want it to be high quality, comfortable, and built to last. Other categories can go either way. With wallpaper, for example, you can splurge on grasscloth or save with vinyl. For rugs, wool is a luxury option, but polypropylene can be a great budget-friendly alternative. It’s all about knowing where to invest and where to cut costs. What are your go-to places for inspiration when designing new spaces? Our sample library is a huge source of inspiration. We receive so many incredible materials—wallpapers, fabrics, finishes—and we’re always waiting for the perfect project to use them in. I also love drawing inspiration from a project’s location. For example, if we’re designing a home in the Bahamas, we take in the colors of the palm leaves, the ocean, the sand, and think, Oh my gosh, this is the perfect project for that lime-green palm print wallpaper we’ve been dying to use! Color is such a huge part of our design process, especially in Charleston, but exploring other places and seeing how different environments influence color is a really fun way to get inspired. What are your favorite Coley Home pieces to incorporate in a living room? The Upholstered Bennett Sofa—hands down! We’re actually using it in a project right now with Lilly Pulitzer and Lee Jofa. It’s upholstered in the new Lilly fabric, and we added the cutest little skirt to give it a fresh, modern take on a traditional shape. It’s perfection. I also love the Loza Chair. We’ve used it in a few projects now—it’s big, cozy, and oversized but still has that modern silhouette. That’s what I love about Coley Home—they take classic shapes and reimagine them in a fresh, modern way. Plus, everything is made in North Carolina, which our clients love.

Coley Home Spotlight: Caroline Boykin

Meet Caroline! Based out of Raleigh, NC, Caroline creates the most incredible artwork, from intricate paintings to delicate sculptures. Read on to learn all about Caroline and how she styled her Coley Home pieces. Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are today! Hey Coley Home! I am Caroline Reehl Boykin, a fine artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina and my work is inspired by the spirit of everyday life. For the past 15 years I have had the honor of creating artwork for clients all over the world. My paintings are filled with elements of nature, architecture, and form using many mediums. I find that unique color interactions within my paintings capture viewers and bring them into a conversation of life and movement. Through the use of porcelain, acrylic paint, and gold and silver leaf, I paint multi-dimensional works that transcend a subject and allow the viewer to decipher meaning. I have always loved to create. My childhood on the Alabama coast cultivated my enchantment with art and southern culture. Touches of this admiration for Southern hospitality and grandeur are seen today flowing through my paintings. While in college, a summer of studying figure drawing in Florence, Italy led me to the realization that being an artist was in my bones. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!!) where I focused on ceramics, but I have always had a true passion for all mediums in art. Today I am blessed to have my studio right here in my home so that I can jump between businesswoman and momma easily. My husband, two girls, and bulldog, Blue, provide me with as much support as they do inspiration to my paintings! Caroline's Website How would you describe your artistic style in your own words? My work is rooted in the rituals of everyday life - morning light, the scent and shapes of flowers from our garden, my girls' infectious giggles, or an ice-cold martini my husband makes me after a long week. These moments are sacred rhythms woven into my paintings. I think my artistic style is a nice combination of Modern and Feminine. How do you approach mixing color and texture in your pieces? Color and texture are such important aspects of my work! In my Le Pointe collection, mixed color combinations are the foundation and the starting point of each painting. Once the squares of color are chosen for the painting, I then come back with more colors but in small marks to create a dance between the squares. When mixing the paint for these marks, I whip my paint to a frosting-like consistency to create little dots of texture. This mesmerizing texture creates the smallest shadows that move throughout the day as light moves across the painting. Caroline used a pair of Bongo Stools in COM (Customer's Own Material) to create the perfect accent pieces for her living room! Where do you personally look for inspiration? Everywhere! Small and simple moments inspire me most as of late. There is beauty surrounding us always, we just have to take the time to find it. This is what I want the viewer to feel when taking in my artwork. To admire the painting with an exhale and to get lost in a memory. I find myself within each scene of my Pout paintings. Do you have any tips for mixing art with furniture and decor in a room? My only tip is to purchase art that you love, and not just because it matches your couch! I find a home much more inviting and beautiful when it is filled with interesting art. What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? My favorite places to splurge and save are the same - antiques! Sometimes you find the save of the century in an antique chandelier or the biggest splurge in an antique Klimt sofa. Whether a splurge or a save, antiques are always necessary. Is there anything more fun than the thrill of the hunt? Most treasured piece in your home (besides your own art)? We have the cover of my great grandmother's bible framed and hung in our kitchen. My great grandmother Leavie, whom my oldest is named after, was born in the late 1800s and I inherited her bible which was so loved and used that it was held together by duct tape. We (very carefully!) took off the cover that is inscribed with her name and framed it in a gorgeous antique frame. It brings me so much joy to see it every day, a sweet reminder of my beloved family and what a matriarch looks like. What is your favorite spring or summer recipe? Food or cocktail! So many! We love to eat in my house! In the spring and summer, it’s anything made with in-season produce from our local Farmer's Market. We also love a skinny Piña Colada for a fun cocktail/mocktail around the pool. It's just blended coconut water, a little pineapple juice, pineapple chunks, and ice. When my girls aren't partaking, a splash of rum makes it even tastier! Thanks, Caroline!

I always have sunglasses, my wallet, a lipgloss and a few extra pacifiers in my bag to get me through the day.  Favorite winter/cold weather recipe (dish or cocktail, your choice!) Meet Jamie Kirkman, founder of Jamie Kirkman Interiors! Jamie takes a pragmatic and creative approach to her designs, incorporating custom furnishings, special collections, and curated art. With over 25 years of experience, Jamie has perfected her design techniques and was recently featured in the Atlanta Home For The Holidays Show house. She featured Coley Home chairs in the dining room and we are obsessed with how they turned out! Read on to see how she styled her Coley Home pieces in the show house. Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today! I've always been drawn to creating spaces that feel both beautiful and lived in, and my path into interior design began through hands-on learning and mentorship. Today, my approach is all about understanding my client and their personalities, how they move through their homes, and what matters most to them. I believe the best design reflects who you are while elevating your everyday life. I feel incredibly fortunate to do work I'm passionate about alongside clients who trust me with their most personal spaces. You recently selected (6) Evans Dining Chairs in COM with Mont Blanc, Blush Welt, and Bleached Oak Finish, as well as (2) Evans Dining Chairs in Miller, Taupe with a Mont Blanc, Blush welt, and Bleached Oak Finish for your Dining Space in the Atlanta Home for the Holidays Showhouse. Walk us through the design process!  The lines of the Evans chairs were exactly what I wanted for the showhouse dining chairs. We then selected fabrics that could stand out against other beautiful features in the room while complementing the chairs' style. The geometric pattern on the COM chairs worked perfectly with the small scale of Miller Taupe, while the Blush Welt tied the chairs together to create a cohesive design. The Evans Dining Chair - COM The evans dining chair - Miller, Taupe with a Mont Blanc, Blush welt Do you have any tips for selecting the perfect COM for a space?  When choosing COM fabrics, I focus on the room's function first, selecting options that are both beautiful and durable enough for daily use, helping clients find something they truly love and that suits their lifestyle. How would you describe your style?  I'd describe my style as refined organic luxury. I love layering natural elements like wood, stone, and greenery with sophisticated details like brass fixtures and sculptural lighting. I aim for spaces that feel both curated and livable, while reflecting the client’s personality and lifestyle. What is the most important detail when designing a dining room? Lighting is everything. It sets the entire mood for gathering and entertaining. Beautiful ambient lighting that makes everyone look and feel their best. The table should allow for comfortable conversation with chairs that are comfortable enough that guests actually want to sit in for hours, and the overall space should encourage people to linger and feel the atmosphere. What is your favorite space that you have designed in your personal home?  I love our primary bedroom. It's calming and restorative, designed as a true sanctuary with minimal furnishings and a soft, soothing palette. What are your go to places for inspiration when designing a new space? I love flipping through design books and following European interiors on Instagram for fresh perspectives. What is your favorite coffee table book? John Derian Picture Book There's something about his eye for beauty in the overlooked that really resonates with me. Thank you, Jamie!

Meet Jamie Kirkman, founder of Jamie Kirkman Interiors!

Coley Home Spotlight: Cathy Rhodes Interiors

Meet Cathy Rhodes of Cathy Rhodes Interiors! Cathy is a fabulous designer who was recently featured in the Atlanta Home For The Holiday’s Show house. We loved hearing about her design process and the small details she uses to make her spaces spectacular. Read on to learn how Cathy styled her Coley Home pieces!  Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today! I started my design firm in 2001 and have been designing elegant homes in the southeast ever since.  With an MBA from Vanderbilt and 9 years in corporate finance I decided to turn my weekend hobby into a career. You recently selected The Claremont Bed - Monarch, the Dakota Dining Chair and The Shiitake Ottomans in your space in the Atlanta Home for the Holidays Show House. Walk us through the design process! My inspiration for this guest bedroom was my two grown daughters who now live in NYC.  Thinking about redesigning my daughter’s childhood bedrooms into more sophisticated guest bedrooms that they look forward to coming home to stay in.  I wanted to create a tranquil oasis for my daughters and other guests.. Lavender is such a calm color and is wonderful for a guest room because its somewhat unexpected.  I selected the Galbraith and Paul Fern pattern first and worked with Liz Galbraith to custom color the fabric in the perfect shades of lilac and lavender.  And then we found two other Galbraith and Paul fabrics that we could add in touches of soft greens and blues. Selecting a beautiful bed was next.  The scalloped Claremont Bed was perfect because the scallop detail added the feminine touch I was looking for.  Upholstering it in Holland Sherry’s velvet mohair gave it the coziness I envisioned.  The Dakota Dining Chair works beautifully as a desk chair.  And the Shiitake Ottomans are just fun and can go anywhere in a room.  I have used them in many clients’ homes and just love them.  They are fun at the foot of this bed but can also be pulled into a dressing room or a dressing table or used as an ottoman with your favorite reading chair. What is your favorite thing about designing for a  show house? How is it different from designing for clients? Show houses are an opportunity to truly display your creativity without any restrictions.  It's the chance to do something a little daring and unique. What is your starting point when designing a bedroom?  For a bedroom I always start with a beautiful fabric that can set the tone for the room.   What is a small detail you always include in bedrooms you design?  I always include a pretty long pillow on the bed in addition to the shams. What are your go-to places for bed linens?  Gramercy Home is my favorite.  They carry many beautiful bedding lines including Matouk and Sferra and they are so easy to work with. Where do you splurge vs. save in the bedroom? I usually splurge on the drapery and the decorative bedding because it has the biggest impact on a bedroom.  If we need to save then I like to save on the sheets by buying simple white sheets to go with the pretty decorative duvet and shams.  What is your favorite space in your home?  My favorite space in my home is my dressing hall because its my pretty little retreat from the rest of the house and I love starting my day there. What is a design trend you hope stays forever? Lucite!  I love lucite pieces because they add a modern touch when you need it to a traditional space and its the ideal material when you need something that is not too heavy and will not take away from other things in the room. Just like the lucite etagere in this guest bedroom. What is your favorite coffee table book? The Decorated Home by Meg Braff.  The photos are beautiful and the way she wrote about each project feels like you are sitting in her living room have a casual conversation about design.  She’s a great college friend of mine so I love seeing how her personality shines through in her book. Thank you, Cathy!

Meet Crystal! Based in Charlotte, NC, with her husband and three children, she’s the creative behind Garden & Grace—your go-to for elegant, classic home and garden inspiration. We love her traditional yet effortless style! Read the blog to learn all about Crystal and how she styled her Coley Home pieces in her little boy's bedroom.  Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start Garden & Grace?  Hi! I’m Crystal Moore, founder of Garden & Grace, a lifestyle brand focused on classic living. My biggest joy is being a mom to three young kids and sharing this life with my high school sweetheart and husband of 10 years in our hometown of Charlotte, NC. With an unconventional path, filled with a career in healthcare administration, I started Garden & Grace during covid as a creative outlet and with no real business plan. But as the daughter of a home builder and a lifelong architecture enthusiast (heightened by my time living in Birmingham, AL and Chicago, IL), I’ve always loved everything about a home and what it represents. Almost 4 years later,  I still pinch myself that I get to share this passion with the Garden & Grace community. You recently redecorated your son’s room. Walk us through the design process!  We moved into our home two years ago, right before I had my third, and my oldest son’s bedroom was such an afterthought. I knew I would want to go back and give him a proper room and finally got around to it just shy of his 6th birthday! I started with combing through inspiration I had saved through the years and noticed  a recurring theme of Americana-style rooms. So I started with a framed vintage American flag and tattersall rug, two quintessential design elements to define the room.  I used those elements to select the fabric for my son’s  Coley Home headboards and from there layered on bedding, lighting and other decor.  Get the Look The Twin Crown Headboard - Charles in Nola, Blue with Belgian Linen, Dark Blue Welt Shop Now What advice do you have for anyone who might be in the process of redecorating a kids’ room?  Designed by Clary Bosbyshell Start with the pieces that you can’t stop thinking about and build your design from there. And don’t get caught up in creating the perfect room with everything you see in a room on Instagram or Pinterest. Most are staged and designed without a budget. Remember, kids will use their room so design it with that in mind! Finding a reliable contact for a home project can be challenging. How do you go about sourcing professionals for your Trusted List of Home Experts? Designed by Anne Pearson Design, Photography by Dustin Peck Photography The Garden & Grace Directory was born out of the constant request from followers for good, reliable home professionals in their cities. It’s now a trusted source with over 45 professionals recommended by a trusted designer, friend or that I’ve personally used. It’s all about curating a mix of professionals for any project all that exemplify honesty, quality work and align with the Garden & Grace style. It’s still new (just over a year old!) so I’m excited to see how it continues to grow and be a trusted source for home projects. Interested companies can apply here. What is your most requested product from your followers? Designed by Whitney Sturge Interiors, Photography by Dustin Peck Photography Lighting! Whether a side table lamp, pleated lamp shade or pendants over a kitchen island, it’s a popular topic and one I love to share!  What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? Design by Caroline Gidiere Design Design by James Farmer Inc, Photography by Upholstery and rugs, hands down. I like to buy those new and to last. They anchor the room and everything else falls in around them. I usually source accessories and artwork from antique malls and estate sales – which can lead to some really good deals and unique pieces! Favorite spring recipe? My signature dish, year round but especially this time of year,  are deviled eggs. I add a touch of dijon mustard, finely chopped dill pickles and sprinkle with paprika to top them off.  They always go fast!

Coley Home Spotlight: Molly Torres Portnof

Meet Molly! Based in Long Island, NY,  Molly founded DATE Interiors to create beautifully chic spaces. We love how she captures the unique personality of each space and client. Read on to learn all about Molly! Tell us about yourself My name is Molly Torres Portnof and I’m the founder and principal designer of DATE Interiors ( (an acronym for ‘Designing A Tiny Empire’ and a nod to my favorite building), a boutique interior design firm based on Long Island, though we have projects all along the northeast. I love designing comfortable, curated residential and commercial spaces with a ton of personality.  How would you describe your interior design style? One-of-a-kind, eclectic-yet-curated. You recently bought your parent’s home and added your personal touch in a huge way! How were you able to transform the home to fit your own style? I don’t think I’m shocking anyone when I say the biggest inspiration was color! But in all seriousness, my real inspiration was wanting to create a creative, energized space that felt unique to me and my husband and is cool, beautiful, welcoming and warm. Having complete creative freedom was such a gift and it really allowed me to show that color, something so many of my clients shy away from and are genuinely confused and scared of, can add so much character to a home, without making it feel overwhelming.  In the living room, the Slipcovered Cab Corner Sectional in Ringo, Bay served as a foundation for the color palette of the space. Walk us through the design process of the room! My biggest goal was making the space feel soft, bright, warm, cozy and inviting. I painted the walls and trim Benjamin Moore Steam, a clean, warm white. Since we purchased my parents’ home, they graciously left us some of their larger furniture pieces. I love the shape and comfort of my parents’ large lounge chair and upholstered ottomans, but they both needed some TLC. I reupholstered them in an ochre performance velvet and added a pleated skirt detail. The marble coffee table and leather safari chairs from our old apartment worked size-wise, so finding a sectional sofa that’s as beautiful as it is comfortable (a tall order!) was hugely important.  I chose the Slipcovered Cab Corner Sectional because of the shape, size and style. I knew I wanted a performance linen that felt soft, but would hold up to pets and kids and Ringo Bay, a gorgeous chambray blue, really fit the bill. Color-wise, it played so nicely with the ochre performance velvet - they feel like they belong together! I like to customize pretty much everything in my life, so having the ability to customize the cushions with a dark blue welt was so fun and such a great detail. The rest of the space really came together after that, from the red Damien Hirst piece to the green and cream custom checkered rug and the aubergine Zellige tiles. Because the space is large, all of the colors work together and bring a lot of warmth and charm. Shop now You also used the Kate Crown Headboard and bed skirt in the primary bedroom. How did this room come together? The Philip Jeffries teal grasscloth wallpaper, vintage rug and Paul Frankl for Johnson Furniture dresser really called for a serene, white bed moment. I loved how feminine and soft the scalloped shape of the Kate Crown Headboard looked and fell so hard for the performance sheepskin fabric – it’s SO cool! The best part is that, visually, the bed looks like one piece because of the matching headboard and bedskirt, an ingenious design trick. The patterned bolster pillow is the perfect accent. Shop Now When tackling a full home redesign, where are areas that you prefer to splurge, and where do you prefer to save? I often advise clients to invest in pieces that will get a ton of use, like rugs, sofas and window treatments and I followed my own advice for my home. There are so many incredible sources for lighting and art at an affordable price point, so those are areas that I tend to keep costs lower. Favorite paint color at the moment? Benjamin Moore Spicy Mustard Favorite coffee table book? David Bowie Is TV show or book you’re into at the moment? I love reading pretty much anything, but Sarah J. Maas is one of my favorite fantasy authors and her newest Crescent City series book is about to drop at the end of January. I’m a huge nerd and I cannot wait! Dream Travel Destination? Morocco

I am the founder of Colordrunk Designs. I live in Atlanta Ga with my husband and three kids You were recently chosen to design the studio apartment in House Beautiful’s Whole Home! The design featured our Upholstered Ellington Chaise and Teeny Swivels in the living room in our fabulous Plush, Coral. Walk us through the design process! When I first saw the space the rose gardens through the arched windows became an obvious muse for the transformation of this project. It isn’t a big space so I used custom sisal rugs to strategically anchor three distinct zones within the long and narrow space. The first area was the dining and the Teeny Swivels with a small footprint were the perfect scale. I knew I wanted color and pattern and a punch of fun. They can pull out when in use and scoot in real close to allow for walkways around both sides of the table. The Teeny Swivel, Featured here in Plush, Coral with Simply White Base Shop Now I wanted to create the next two areas to be a sitting space and enjoy the fireplace. Then the next one would be to enjoy the rose garden views since I had to put the sofa against the window in the fireplace sitting area. I envision the Ellington Chaise to be a place to read a book, do some work on a laptop or even take a nap. It was made for this exact space! The Upholstered Ellington Chaise, Featured here in Plush, Coral with Simply White Legs Shop now As evidenced by the name of your design firm, you are an absolute lover of bright color! What are some of your favorite ways to bring unexpected color into rooms needing a boost? My favorite way to bring in unexpected pops of color is with textiles- throw pillows or art can add a lot of fun to even a space with neutral walls. Any tips or tricks for creating a large impact in a room on a smaller budget? Use bold colored or printed pieces of furniture. This is where you should invest. Favorite places to save, and favorite places to splurge when it comes to interiors? I would always tell you to invest in your furniture pieces because these are what are used and need to be durable and last the longest. Invest in custom drapery bc you cannot beat the look and feel they create. Save on accessories - go to smaller thrift shops or fun stores. Claremont Bed vs. Crown Bed

Claremont Bed vs. Crown Bed

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, and we believe that starts with your bed! We offer several styles of beds, but our most popular and customizable styles belong to the Crown Bed Collection and the Claremont Collection. Both offer similar headboard shapes and a platform bed frame, but there are some key differences between the two collections to note before making your purchase. Read on to determine which collection best fits your needs! The Crown Bed Need a custom look in a flash? The Crown Bed is our signature Bed-in-a-box! It features a 100% foam slipcovered headboard and a fully upholstered platform bed frame – no box spring needed. The foam headboard does not attach to the bed frame, but is supported between the flat wall, bed frame and mattress. Handcrafted in just 10 business days, the Crown Bed ships via UPS. Unwrap your dream bedroom in no time! Highly customizable, the Crown Bed is available in 7 unique shapes, over 80 fabrics, and 5 wooden leg finishes. Choose from King, Queen, and Twin XL sizes! Customize your bed with a contrast welt and wood leg finish. Shop the Crown Bed Grab a friend, and assemble the bed in no time! Since the Crown Headboard is 100% foam, it will arrive tightly compressed into a cylinder inside a Coley Home Box. The foam headboard will arrive in a protective white fabric cover, with your slipcover folded up inside a dust bag. No need to remove the white covering – your made-to-order slipcover will slide right over it. We encourage customers to open the package immediately to give time for the foam to expand back to its original shape. The longer the foam headboard is compressed and rolled, the longer it will take to take shape – this should take a few hours. Once the foam has fully expanded, you can apply the slipcover! Make sure that the seams match up with the edges of the foam, for best results. Don’t worry, the slipcover should be tight, keep tugging! Once you’ve pulled the slipcover over the foam, lay the foam flat and line up the bottom corners. You will see a zipper lining at the bottom of the cover. Keep in mind, we designed this to be very tight so that the end result will resemble an upholstered headboard! The Crown Bed Frame is a fully upholstered platform frame, so no need for a box spring! Another advantage of the Crown Bed is its versatility! Want to refresh your space? You can easily switch out the Crown Headboard slipcover! Extra Slipcovers     Love the bed skirt look? Check out our Crown Bed Skirt! With a 16 inch drop length and a streamlined design, our bed skirt is compatible with most standard bed frames and pairs beautifully with our Crown Headboards – just be sure to measure! Please note that our bed skirt is not compatible with our Crown Bed Frames, or with bed frames that require headboard attachment.  Shop the Bed Skirt The Claremont Bed Ground your bedroom in sophistication with the Claremont Bed. Our Claremont Bed features a fully upholstered headboard and platform bed frame - no boxspring needed! Handcrafted in 6-8 weeks, the Claremont Beds ship via freight carrier. Learn about our different shipping options here. The Claremont Bed is available in 7 unique shapes, over 80 fabrics, and 5 wooden leg finishes! Customize with a contrast welt or even contrast border for a bespoke feel. Choose from King, Queen, and Twin sizes. The headboard and bed frame are fully attached to each other, so they must be purchased together. Shop now

Holiday Hosting with Heather French

Thanksgiving is almost here, which means holiday hosting season is in full swing! Bring on the festive decor, the elaborate tablescapes, and decadent recipes. We chatted with one of our favorite designers, Heather French, about her gorgeous dining room and best holiday hosting tips. Tell us about yourself! Hi! My name is Heather French and I am the founder and principal designer of French and French Interiors. I run the firm alongside my husband, Matt French who is our Director of Business Development and Lead Product Designer. We’re based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico but take on both residential and commercial projects nationwide. We’ve been taking on more boutique commercial projects lately that we are absolutely loving and looking forward to more opportunities like this in the near future. How would you describe your design style? Classic and folky. I try to always focus on this fun, vibrant aspect of design where everything is layered, patterned and colorful. Hard to describe in a few words! I always listen to what the client has to say, what colors they’re interested in, what existing art they have to pull from, but a key focus for me is to always create spaces that make you feel comfortable and at ease. I like to consider this as the foundation to my design and then create interest with layered patterns, especially through different fabrics. You recently designed a gorgeous dining room featuring our Sophie Dining Chairs! Walk us through the design process of the chairs. This dining space is actually in my own home that we’re in the process of putting final touches on! We’re nearing the end of our remodel and the ultimate goal is to feature a floral wallpaper on the ceiling and then red built-in shelving surrounding the dining table. So, the design for the chair ultimately pulled from the ceiling wallpaper we’ll be bringing into this space. I wanted a pop of red, so we brought that in through the piping and in back fabric and decided to add an Indian inspired floral to pull the red theme from throughout the rest of the dining room. We finished it off with a blue cotton that’s really quite fun and beautiful.  I think the fact that Coley Home offers so many custom upholstery options is great because you really don’t see that very often. To be able to have so many beautiful options available in house is just incredible. The Sophie Dining Chair in Frenchie, Rose Petal with an Italian Blend, Caribbean Blue Contrast Outback and Como, Rockstar Welt. Where are some of your favorite places to source table decor? Candles, tablecloths, napkins, china, etc. I like Mrs. Alice quite a bit, the cabbage plates are from her. And then, Kit Kemp is great for napkins and other table linens. And the rest of the plates are all Wedgwood. I love to mix and match. I’ll go on Etsy to source things like hand-painted candles and then play with florals and seasonal produce from the local market to top off a tablescape. Do you have a go-to formula for the perfect holiday table? Making it feel natural and homey, not too pretentious. You want people to really linger and hang out. Also, there is a difference between the table that you actually eat at vs. one styled to be enjoyed from a distance. So I have two different ways I like to style. If it’s just for decor - I make it a bit more flouncy, but if we’ll be eating at the table, it’s a lower floral and definitely lots of candles.  Any tips to eliminate stress when preparing to host friends and family? Yes! I’m a big believer in hosting whether you’re ready for it or not. And I think these days, it’s actually quite rare to be invited over for dinner, people often just choose to go out. Over the past few years we’ve developed a Friday night crew where every Friday night we’re rotating at someone's house for dinner. Sometimes it’s a really beautiful, lovely dinner and sometimes it’s pizza or some other take-out. It’s more about getting together and less about the fancifulness of it all. If I can pull off something fully styled and home-cooked, I certainly do. I think it’s really special to eat off your nice china and share those moments but I think my biggest tip is to just do it. And if that means a pint of ice cream on the table and some pizza, everybody is thankful for that, no matter what. Favorite Thanksgiving recipe? My grandmother did these stuffed mushrooms that were simply incredible - lots of lemon and garlic, stuffed with Italian herbs and seasonings. And I’m gluten free now, so I’ve found a great gluten free version to continue the tradition in our home. Go-to dinner party playlist? Whatever Matt puts on!* *We asked Matt, he says “global synthy disco funk or big bass relentless rhythms… It depends though, really. ;)”

Meet Nicola! Based in San Antonio, TX, Nicola does it all, from jewelry design to interiors to content creation. We love her effortless mix of prints and how she makes the traditional feel fresh and new! Read on to learn all about Nicola, how she’s styled her beautiful home, and more! Tell us about yourself! Born in South Africa, I enjoyed living in England before ultimately calling San Antonio, Texas home with my husband, Michael, and our three children. While attending Texas Christian University, I studied interior design while simultaneously beginning Nicola Bathie Jewelry. My worldly childhood and English heritage have undoubtedly had a hand in molding my style and designs to what they are today. You have lived in several different countries throughout your life – how has this influenced your design style? It has influenced the way I appreciate different styles. You recently added the Bryant Bumper Chaise sectional to your home. Walk us through the design process! I knew I wanted a pattern that would WOW but also wanted it to cohesively blend into the blissful room it was going in. Loved the Frenchie pattern and after deliberation on different colorways I ended up choosing Frenchie, Dove. You are in the middle of renovating your dream home! What are you most excited about? Living there! It is such a long time coming and I cannot wait for the interiors, I have been dreaming of them for the last 5 years. Your jewelry line is stunning – what is your favorite piece at the moment? The Paris Blue Flower & Embellished Tassels, I can't wait to wear them during sparkle season. Go-to places for design inspiration, especially for your new house? Places I’ve traveled; mainly English and French decor/architecture. A showroom. I get lost in textile showrooms, a fabric can give me all the feels and inspire on its own. Other than that, Instagram, and flipping through Coffee Table books.  Favorite coffee table book? The Queen’s People Dream travel destination? England and the English countryside for Christmas. Favorite book or TV show at the moment? Currently on  Tom Lake & Ted Lasso

Meet Alexandra! Based in Nashville, TN, she was an Editor at Country Living Magazine before becoming an interior designer! We’re always inspired by her mastery of layered spaces filled with color and incredible prints! Tap to learn all about Alexandra! Tell us about yourself My husband and I live in Nashville with our 8 month old and within the last year completed the build of our house. I grew up in Virginia so am very inspired by classical architecture, collected interiors, and anything with a rich history. I firmly believe a home should tell the story of its owners and aspire to create that for each of my clients. How would you describe your design style? After having spent almost half a decade in the magazine industry before ultimately landing in interior design, I had been exposed to such a wide variety of styles, which has greatly influenced my personal aesthetic. My style is classic in nature but interpreted in a fresher way, always with the goal of creating timeless and approachable spaces. You recently designed the most beautiful nursery for your baby girl and used the Upholstered Hadley Swivel Glider! Walk us through the design process of the room. It all started with the wallpaper. I’ve had my eye on this Schumacher paper for years and when I found out I was having a baby girl I knew this was the perfect opportunity to use it. Since the paper is so geometric and orderly I needed something soft and more organic to balance it, so I pulled in a floral chintz using it as my main fabric. From there I honed in on the more obscure colors from the chintz like the mustard velvet and upholstered the glider in it to ground the room and just kept mixing patterns to keep it playful.  The art you selected for the nursery is stunning. Where are some of your favorite places to source art? Art is such an important aspect to a home, and oftentimes it feels like this is where clients tend to stop. But, this is where your personality and preferences really get to shine. When at all possible I prefer to bring in an art consultant to help clients select meaningful pieces and one of my favorites is IG Art. However, if that’s not in the budget, Natural Curiosities is a great resource for a wide variety of prints and they offer them in oversized sizes which is great when you need a large piece but don’t want to break the bank. I also love Chairish.  Your pattern play in the nursery is flawless! Any tips for mixing and matching patterns? Don’t be afraid to step out of the box a little bit. This is where you get the opportunity to make a space unique. Start with a common thread, like a particular shade of pink and build upon that. If you have a large scale print wallpaper then your drapery might need to be a tight block print or stripe, it’s all about visual balance. Go-to places for design inspiration? Travel, museums, historic homes, etc. Favorite coffee table book? The Big Book of Chic, Miles Redd is my design idol. Dream travel destination? Travel through Europe on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Favorite book or TV show at the moment? The Real Housewives of New York City.

Meet MaryRalph! Based in Malibu, California, MaryRalph is co-founder of the fabulous lifestyle brand, Daily Drills! MaryRalph is the pinnacle of effortlessly chic style and we love her positive energy! Read on to learn all about MaryRalph, how she's styled her beautiful home, and more! Tell us about yourself!  My name is MaryRalph Bradley, originally from Austin, TX, currently living in Los Angeles with my husband Houston! I’m the co-founder and Creative Director of Daily Drills, a lifestyle brand that I run alongside my best friend. Outside of work, you can find me on long walks alongside the Palisades Bluffs, taking a cold plunge in the ocean, sipping on an Aperol Spritz, or laying low with friends and family. How would you describe your interior design style? I would say my style is coastal meets classic! My mom, Missy Lawson, is an interior designer so she has been my biggest influence when it comes to my taste in interiors! I loved growing up in the south, with the traditional architecture and styling.  Now I live in Los Angeles, and I love the easy laid back casual beachy lifestyle southern California gives. I feel like my personal interior design style is a combination of these two worlds, so to me it's very "Home-y." You recently styled the Parker Dining Bundle in your new dining room. Walk us through the design process! I knew I wanted to refresh my dining room and add a bit of warmth and texture into the space. My previous chairs were a bit cold and I wanted something upholstered and simple. I love the classic elements an upholstered chair brings, and the coastal feel from the light linen fabric, so it seemed to be the perfect chair for my dining room! I love the effortless look of the chairs and the inviting conversational feeling they give by being armless. Not only do we love your breezy taste in interiors, we live for your OOTD’s! Where are some of your favorite places to shop? I feel like I have a very defined personal style, so it bleeds into my clothing and my home. I always laugh that I am “matching my house” -- I love a mix of classic and coastal in my wardrobe, too, so we are always matchy-matchy! Some of my current favorite places to shop are Daily Drills (My Brand), Jenni Kayne for cardigans, Doen for easy breezy pieces, ALV jewels for easy accessories, NAKD/Zara/Mango for trendy items, Sir the Label for Aussie staples, American Vintage for Knits, and Timeless Pearly for statement jewelry.  Who/what are your main sources of inspiration? My mom is one of my biggest sources of Inspiration! I love her effortless and true-to-herself style she has always had. She is always classic, always cool, and always dressed! She has taught me everything I know! I also love getting inspiration from my own surroundings -- the wildflowers that grow in Southern California inspire my dinner party floral arrangement… the weather in LA inspires my pant selection for that day… the window display I passed on my morning walk inspires the idea for an art piece in my house… and the TikTok I just hearted inspires my dinner menu for the night! I’m constantly influenced by all of the little things throughout my day -- if you look for inspo, you’ll find it!  Tell us all about Daily Drills! What’s your favorite piece that has dropped recently? Daily Drills (my brand!) is LA-based lifestyle brand designed to make getting dressed fun. In 2020, my best friend Kennedy Crichlow (Kenn) and I spotted a niche in the ever-growing leisure industry and set out to create clothes that do the work for you. From cozy loungewear to stylish workout gear and vacation-ready resort wear, Daily Drills has something for every occasion. Soon after selling out our first collection, Kenn and I quit our social media and marketing jobs to give our constantly growing social media audience what they wanted. What started as cardboard boxes of inventory stacked on my apartment balcony has grown into the easy-to-love, exciting-to-style, 7-figure apparel destination that is Daily Drills. You recently got married! If you had one piece of advice for future brides, what would it be? !!! It was the happiest day ever !!! I would say make it authentically YOU! Do things that make you happy that day, like a morning walk or your favorite lunch! If you hate getting ready for hours, don’t. If you love your hair waved, wave it! The whole day, not just the night, is supposed to be the best, so design your own perfect day. Favorite summertime cocktail? An Aperol Spritz…. CHEERS! Summer plans you’re most excited about? I have lots of fun weekends and trips ahead! I’ll be home for the 4th, because we love a Texas July 4th party, then am off to some weddings and parties for a few of our favorite people, heading back to Italy *and hopefully Paris* and will top it all off with a secret destination for my sister's bachelorette party! Favorite coffee table book at the moment? Love Surfing by . It was actually my Guest book at my wedding! We had all of our guests sign inside and now we have it sitting on our coffee table and love flipping through it for encouraging messages from all of our loved ones. Meet Sarah! Based in Palmetto, Florida, Sarah is an expert on style and travel - and we can't get enough! Read on to learn all about Sarah, how she's styled her incredible home, and more!  Tell us about yourself! I'm a lifestyle and travel content creator out of Palmetto, Florida. While I love to travel, I also believe there's no place like home. You recently added the Bradley Return Loveseat Sectional in Ringo, Bay to your home. Walk us through the design process of the room! Our home was built in 1924, but our playroom was an addition added in the 70s. It lacked the charm of the rest of the house. People usually enter through the playroom too, so it was unfortunately the first impression. In 2019 we ripped out the paneled walls, had the old windows replaced, put french doors where a fireplace was, and had old cabinets removed where we replaced them with benches that open up to store toys. It has been a project! Honestly, it was great for the time of having a baby and a toddler. We had old leather couches in there that we never felt was all that comfortable. And I don't think it ever truly fit our aesthetic!   Our kids are now 8 and 10, and are into all of the sports. This room used to be covered in toys, and now we gravitate toward board games and tv shows. I wanted to give us all a space that was comfortable, classic, and perfect for hosting friends. Having purchased Coley Home in the past, I knew the quality was going to be amazing. I knew it could hold up to my kids and all of their friends, and our Boston Terrier. I love that the Bradley Return Loveseat Sectional is one of the first things you see now when you walk into our home. It's proven to be so cozy! Your home is absolutely beautiful, and we loved reading all about it in Southern Living this Spring. If you could give one piece of advice for moving into a historic home, what would it be? Thank you!! Have patience, make sure you really love it, and don't mind a project! We love seeing glimpses of your sister, Molly Boyd, on your Instagram and your stylish collaborations! What are some of your favorite parts about working with your sister?   I have so many! For one, we are always having fun! Family is such a big part of our life, and getting to work together is a dream. Molly has always had an incredible eye for style, and ability to execute it. I'm amazed by her thoughtfulness in design and in life in general. I love seeing her shine, and I love how she calls me her Kris Jenner. Haha! Favorite summer recipe: Watermelon, Feta, and Basil. Go-to places to find design inspiration? Instagram has so many favorites - Renee Cusano, Haverhill Home, Haven Sent, are just a few. I also love artists like Riley Sheehey, Teil Duncan, and Lulie Wallace.  Bunny Mellon, James Farmer, and Mark D. Sikes are all incredible sources for design inspiration Favorite coffee table book at the moment? Deeda Blair - Food, Flowers and Fantasy. Dream travel destination?  An African Safari Favorite book or TV show at the moment? Can't get enough of Ted Lasso
