Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today! Trudy was born and raised in Piqua, Ohio, though people are often surprised I’m not a born and bred Southern belle. I currently lead Huff Harrington Design as Lead Designer, where I bring a refined design sensibility, thoughtful approach, and a little optimism to every project. Before fully stepping into interiors, I honed my spacial design skills through l leadership roles with brands including Gap, Spanx, and Serena & Lily. Frequent trips to France – where I assist with international design projects and installations – have shaped my signature approach: blending old and new with a playful, unexpected twist. Outside the office, you’ll often find me strolling Chastain Park with my handsome Lab, Beau, or enjoying a lively dinner out with my husband, glass of bubbly in hand. Emma Caroline Lee has spent years with Huff Harrington honing her eye through countless design projects. Prior to that she tackled the world of luxury PR launching fine art, fashion and hospitality brands in Atlanta. While her heart lies with traditional themes she loves to create a mix and to elevate designs through fabrics and custom pieces, building a story around our clients’ existing furnishings. Her love of classic and traditional design is a perfect complement to the Huff Harrington mix of antique and modern. When she’s not designing, you can find her spending time with her adorable young family or traveling. One of the most meaningful parts of our work is connecting with clients. We take the time to really listen, understand their stories and the pieces they love, and translate their vision into spaces that feel personal, sophisticated, and always chic. You recently selected 2 Twin Claremont Beds - Charles with a fabulous brushed fringe. Walk us through the design process! One of the elements that grounded the design of the room from the very beginning was a fabulous imported antique settee we found in the South of France. Its sassy curves immediately set the tone, so it was important for us to find bed frames that echoed that curvy softness – the Charles did just that. As with any successful space, the devil is in the details. We had the most fun marrying the bed frames and settee through coordinating fabrics - ultimately choosing a stripe for the beds to bring in a tailored note. To soften the structured stripe - and of course adding a touch of unexpectedness - we finished the headboards with a brushed fringe trim from Samuel & Sons. Layered against the Farrow & Ball high-gloss walls, the subtle movement and texture was the perfect final touch, elevating the beds while tying the entire room together beautifully. The Claremont bed - Charles How would you describe your style? Classic at its core, with a deep reverence for both contemporary and antique influences. You have a design branch in both Atlanta and Paris. Do you often try to incorporate European influences throughout your design projects in the US? It truly works both ways – we’re constantly inspired by both sides of the pond. That said, there’s something especially compelling about incorporating a piece of French history into our state-side projects. A beautiful European antique has an effortless way of adding depth, soul and a bit of “crunch” when layered into a modern or traditional home. We always aim for a home that feels classic and lived-in. If you had to pick one, what is your favorite project to date? That’s a difficult question, as each project is deeply personal to each client. Knowing their story, understanding the heirlooms they cherish, and creating designs that reflect their lives make every project meaningful in its own way. What aspect of Parisian lifestyle do you adopt in your everyday life? I’ve always admired the ease of the French lifestyle – lingering over meals, choosing quality over quantity, and treating everyday rituals as small indulgences. And of course, there’s the skincare… a daily reminder that a good cream can, in fact, solve almost everything! What’s a wallpaper or fabric you are dying to use in a project? Tough question because there are so many that are on our radar but I recently stumbled across the most adorable wallpaper by Jordan Connelly that would be the perfect addition to a family vacation home. Favorite coffee table book? Well, at the moment , we are gushing over the most recent Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle magazine because Huff Harrington Design made the cover! What is your most requested design feature? ‘The Mix’ of new & old The mix – layering new with old to create spaces that feel collected, not decorated. It’s about balancing contemporary pieces with character-rich antiques to achieve spaces that are timeless, personal, and truly lived-in.

Quiet neutrals can speak volumes! This week, we used our Frenchie, Dove fabric to pull the perfect blend of bold textures and warm neutrals into this darling room! The Bradley Return Loveseat Sectional Starting with our Bradley Return Loveseat Sectional, we wanted to add both a functional and stylish element to our space. We paired our Luxe Velvet, Sand fabric with this elegant sectional to create a chic and charming look! The Dibs Chair Our next step was picking out a cozy chair to curl up in! The Dibs Chair exudes a vintage look while offering a great deal of comfort. We used Ditsy, Dove to add a subtle pattern to this classy chair. To finish up, we added a Ringo, Taupe welt for a fun contrast! The Mia Shin Toaster Focusing on Frenchie, Dove, we used this neutral heavy pattern to pull from. We believe a rug is such an important part of a room and can be used to bring a space to life. Mckinsey has made her home in Tulsa with her husband and their children. Lissa lives in San Antonio with her husband and their two girls We are in love with your unique artisan made rugs! Give us a brief history of your career and how you started Loom & Co! We have always had a love for design and color. We researched and researched and researched and finally decided to launch in February of 2020. We can't believe how our business has grown and we believe what makes a good business is having THE BEST customers! Where are your favorite places to find design inspiration? Traveling to different tropical, coastal spots is where we draw so much of our inspiration! What is your favorite room to style? FAMILY ROOMS! We believe making your family room feel happy and cozy makes for a cheerful home always! You recently designed two different rooms with some of our pieces! The adorable bedroom with the Monarch Crown Bed, and the living room with our Nash Swivel Gliders. Could you walk us through the design process of each room? We love to design rooms starting with the foundation (a rug!). I ordered Beatrice for my formal living and had a funky shaped space so I was in need of 4 small scale chairs. I love slipcovered furniture and when I found these Nash Swivel Gliders, the lead time stole the show and I knew I couldn't live without them! It has become one of my favorite spaces in my home. My guest room featured a chinoiserie mural and I wanted a blush bed (for my mama to sleep in when she visits!). The Crown Bed caught my eye and I ordered it (without samples) in Como, Blush with Italian Blend, White piping. Meet Erin! Based in Connecticut, her incredible eye for both photography and interior design has us instantly inspired! Read to learn all about Erin and her fabulous taste! Tell us about yourself! I am a Canadian who now lives in a 1940's Colonial home in coastal Connecticut. My husband and I have been renovating our home room by room over the past six years, sharing the process on my blog. We have loved bringing character back to our eighty year old home through lots of hands-on projects. You have an affinity for both design and photography. Tell us how you were able to merge two of your passions! Photography has been a passion of mine since college, where I eventually found myself in interiors photography, which I love so much. I love how you can bring a space to life and capture it for others to experience, as well as collaboration with designers. For design, I always approach a room with the final images in mind, ensuring that all the sightlines tell a story and showcase the personality of the space. How would you describe your design style? My aesthetic is pretty traditional, with a more streamlined, modern bent. I love using lots of color, pattern, and texture to create layered spaces that feel collected over time, and often feature a heavy dose of vintage furniture. I am very focused on functionality as well, as every space needs to work functionally, ahead of the more fun, aesthetic choices. You have done an incredible job breathing new life into your Connecticut Colonial. Any words of wisdom for those who are about to embark on the fixer upper journey? Absolutely! I would recommend selecting classic materials for hard finishes, where I do find that more modern options can feel dated more quickly. I also would not shy away from color, as it completely changes the feeling of a room as paint is the fastest way to make your home feel your own. There are a few things I wish I had decided out of the gate, like determining the trim profiles for casing, baseboards, etc. at the start, so that there was consistent millwork throughout, adding soundproofing into walls when they were open, and upgrading all our switches to one chic style out of the gate. I would lean into the process and ensure you're making at least one choice in every room that gives you pause, as I can guarantee those little risks are what you will love most at the end. The Dibs Chair was the finishing touch to your son’s nursery! Walk us through your thought process as you customize your chair! We are obsessed with the Dibs Chair! After my son previously coexisted alongside some darker, non-performance fabric upholstered pieces in our home, it was immediately clear that babies and toddlers are best suited to lighter colored fabrics with some serious performance properties. So, the Nomad, Snow fabric was the perfect choice to hold up to his sticky fingers, with its Crypton treatment. I love how the creamy color highlights the arched shape of the chair against our blue grasscloth. I wanted to play up the shape of the arms with some subtle Luxe Velvet, White piping that brings in a new texture as well, and the Ebony legs were chosen to pop off the light blue rug. Our Dibs Chair has held up great to an active toddler and has been the perfect size for our petite nursery - the footprint is great for the small space, but is also big enough for an adult and a toddler at bedtime. The Dibs Chair in Nomad, Snow with Luxe Velvet, White Welt Now for the design of the room! Give us a little background on how the room has transformed over the years. Can you share some of the sources for the design elements in the room? Up until my son was born, this space served as my tiny light and airy home office and featured Chinoiserie wallpaper, a large vintage rug, and an antique wood desk dating back to the 1800's. When my son was born, we moved my office and all my prized antiques to another space in our home and transformed this room into his nursery. To completely change the vibe of the space, I painted the trim and ceiling in Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue, wallpapered the walls in a Robin's Egg Blue Wallpaper from Annie Selke, added a blue wool rug from Annie Selke, and a flush mount fixture from Circa Lighting. To furnish the space, we added a wood crib from Nestig, a vintage campaign dresser that we refinished while living in our first apartment seven years ago, and our Dibs Chair. I wanted this space to feel calming and quiet for both us and our very busy son, and the entire vibe feels very soothing now. I can't believe how effective paint and wallpaper can be at transforming a space. Favorite places to find design inspiration? Travel, Instagram, and TV shows. 3 favorite people to follow on Instagram? Favorite recipe at the moment? Korean Braised Short Ribs - so easy to make, and are perfect for dinner parties since you can prepare them in advance and warm them up to serve them (and they taste even better than if they were freshly made!) Dream travel destination? I have been dreaming about taking a beach vacation to Harbor Island in the Bahamas (with a stay at the Dunmore!).
This week, we created a calming lounge around our new performance fabric: Casual, Lavender. We’re in love with how easily this fabric pairs with our neutrals and prints! The Upholstered Bradley Sofa Let’s start the room with a new piece in our collection, the Bradley Sofa. The shelter arm with a saber detail creates an ultra chic feel. We used Ticking, Lavender as our base for this room. The Milla Swivel Chair We used Casual, Lavender on our Milla Swivel Chairs as our pop of color. With a Belgian Linen, Optic White welt, we love how these chairs have a custom feel. The Upholstered Cube We love putting our feet up after a long day, so we brought in two of our Cubes in Boucle, Cream. The Porter Side Table To bring in some contrast, we added our Porter Side Table in Italian Blend, Lemongrass. We love how versatile this table is and how easily it fits into a space. Adding a Italian Blend, Lemongrass welt to coordinate with the Porter Side Table, these Deco Pillows bring the room together. Now, it’s time for the accessories! Lupe Table Lamp For lighting, we chose this beautiful Mitzi Lupe Table Lamp. The fun shape and sleek gold adds glamor to the space. The Brainstorm in White on Lavender Silk We used two Silk paintings from Kayce Hughes to highlight the lavender. The Brainstorm in White on Lavender Silk #1 and #2 adds whimsy and color! Montage Woven Wool Rug The Montage Dove Grey Woven Wool Rug adds some warmth. The subtle pattern and warm tones creates a cozy feel. Kate Coffee Table For the coffee table, we chose this Kate Coffee Table from Oyster Creek. We love the cool silhouette and texture this table adds to the room! Provence Glory Decorating coffee tables can be daunting, so we opted for a classic Assouline book. I'm a creative consultant and the creator of The Nat Note, a fashion newsletter delivering curated shopping suggestions for women, children and the home in my signature collages - the “Notes”. What began as a creative outlet for me when I began practicing law in 2016 is now a coveted newsletter with loyal subscribers - and my fresh, bold style acts as a filter for the finds I share each week. I'm a Cuban-American, Miami, Florida native living in Houston, Texas with my husband Jamey and our sons, Whit (3) and George (10 months). When your newsletter hits our inboxes on Monday morning, we can’t help but stop and shop. Give us a little history of the Nat Note and how it came about! Thank you! The Nat Note started in 2017 – I was a few months into my corporate law job and found myself awake and waiting for emails at strange hours, with not much else to do but online shop. I was sending a lot of “you should buy this” messages to family and friends, and eventually channeled this late-night, deep-diving, compulsive-shopping energy into what it is now: a newsletter to share the products and brands that catch my eye each week. How would you describe your style? Where do you attribute most of your style influences? I would describe my style as a bit of an oxymoron: classic yet funky. I play for the maximalist team and gravitate towards bold colors and prints but also try to stick with pieces that will stand the test of time (and am partial to those that already have - i.e., vintage). I prefer to fill my home and closet with pieces that I find interesting and meaningful in order to create a wardrobe and spaces that (over time) tell a story and are layered with personal touches. It’s no secret that you have flawless taste in fashion, but your knack for colorful interiors is equally inspiring! The snippets we’ve seen of your new home have us just swooning. Where did you and your designer, Lila Malone, find inspiration? Everywhere! We shared so many images over texts and DMs and shared albums that it was hard to keep track of it all. Our shared love of color and striking interiors resulted in an exciting, collaborative energy that made the entire process so much fun. Instagram is a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration and my screenshots were usually our starting point; from there I handed the reigns over to Lila and let her expertise execute. She was instrumental in finding ways to use or update what we already had in order to determine what new pieces we needed so that my vision for our new home could be realized. You picked out the Teeny Swivel for your new home office. Walk us through the design process of this chic room! Getting to design my own home office with our recent move after only knowing my corporate law firm office felt akin to getting to wear whatever I wanted to class when I got to college after only knowing my catholic school uniform [that resembled a USPS uniform, might I add] : no more rules, baby. In both instances I ran wild. We started with the Holly Coulis piece and the Ottoline Tulips of Belgravia wallpaper for the accent wall - from there, Lila picked the perfect shade of green paint (Broccoflower!). I scored the Italian mid-century bar cabinet on an online auction - the right side is mirrored and has a built-in light, which feels very Mad Men meets Miami (aka, moi). The Teeny Swivel Chair in Italian Blend, Lemongrass with the Plush, Coral piping was just what the room needed to really get the party started. The fun colors play off the wallpaper and the stylish shape is the perfect compliment to the all-work-and-all-play vibes going on in there. Favorite paint color and/or wallpaper that you used in your new home? Our living room is painted in Milkshake by Benjamin Moore - it’s the perfect shade of a light beige-y pink that resembles the inside of a seashell. We opted for a high gloss finish, which makes everyone look their best while triggering a subconscious desire for a cocktail. Dream travel destination? The Marbella Beach Club currently sits at the top of my bucket list. You love a good themed dinner party. What is a theme you’re dreaming of for your next soirée? I saw this photo recently and it hasn’t left my mind. I would love to throw a “70 in 1970: South Beach” themed party. The key here would be to hire a caricature artist to draw each guest during dinner – a memento of the night everyone gets to take home with them. Go-to cocktail recipe? My brother-in-law’s martini is my favorite of all time: Will’s Martini Directions: Fill the cocktail shaker with ice. Add enough gin to reach over half of the shaker and top with a cap of vermouth (following the 1 cap = 2 martini ratio) Shake very hard (broken off ice chips make for a colder martini) Add desired amount of olive juice to bottom of martini glass (smaller glass makes for a colder martini) Strain cocktail shaker over the olive juice and garnish with an olive. Favorite coffee table book at the moment? Will take this opportunity to gush on A Loving Table, not just because I was lucky enough to be included in it 😉, but also because my Coley Home napkins are featured as well! The book showcases tablescapes and entertaining styles inspired by family traditions; my chapter is about my Cuban heritage and my Coley napkins embroidered with a palm tree and “Los Steens” are (in my unbiased opinion) not to be missed. Flowers are beginning to bloom, and we’re feeling inspired! This week, we focused on the bright colors in our Frenchie, Rose Petal fabric to create a sweet little girl’s room! We love how versatile and fun this new pattern is! Twin Charles Crown Bed We started with Twin Charles Crown Beds in Frenchie, Rose Petal! The Charles is one of our most popular Headboard shapes, and we loved how it paired with the floral fabric. Euro Pillow Adding a bit of texture to the bed, our Euro Pillow in Boucle, Cream is a great centerpiece. We added a Como, Robin’s Egg welt to the pillow to bring out the blues in the Frenchie fabric. Small Lumbar Pillow To bring in a pop of pink, we added a Small Lumbar Pillow in Ticking, Rose Petal. We love layering pillows to bring more color and texture to your bed! Porter Side Table We brought in our Porter Side Table in Raffia, Bashful for the bedside, which can also be used as a petite desk. Our Raffia fabrics are incredibly durable and chic! Slipcovered Cube For the end of the bed, we added Slipcovered Cubes in Italian Blend, Lemongrass. This fabric is a CH team favorite! Teeny Swivel Chair Our Teeny Swivel Chair adds a sweet perch to this room. We used our Ticking, Rose Petal for the main fabric and added Italian Blend, Lemongrass welt for a pop of color. Larkspur Task Sconce For the lighting, we chose this Larkspur Task Sconce lamp from Serena & Lily. The sweet scallops on the lampshade bring in the softness from the florals. Braided Scalloped Jute Rug Since we loved the scallops on the lamp so much, we decided to use it on the rug too! This beautiful Jute Rug from Etsy brings in some warmth and texture to the room. Pinky I Because you can never have too much pink, we finished the room with this fabulous piece we found on Liza Pruitt! We love the colors and the gestural marks in the painting, so we just had to include it here!
There’s something about white and cream textures that make a room feel chic. This week, we focused on crisp neutrals to create a fresh and sleek sitting room. We used Boucle, Cream and Ticking, Dove to create texture and add depth to the room. The Cab Sofa We started with our Cab Sofa, which has quickly become the crowd favorite of our new collection! The Slipcover makes it easy to clean, and if you’re prone to changing your mind, you can change it whenever you’d like! We love it here in Belgian Linen, Optic White. The Laney Slipper Chair Next up: the Laney Slipper Chairs. Ticking, Dove is a great fabric for bringing in subtle pattern! These chairs are perfect for small spaces, and they’re a CH Team favorite. The Mia Shin Toaster Our Mia Shin Toaster is the perfect accent chair, and we used Boucle, Cream here to add subtle texture to the room! Don’t be fooled by it’s small size, this chair is incredibly comfortable for all. Bruna Walnut Wood and Linen Floor Lamp For the lighting, we chose this Bruna Floor Lamp. The soft brown of the wood and lampshade details make the room feel warm and inviting. Slope Cement Coffee Table Since all of our furniture is plush and comfortable, we decided to add this Slope Cement Coffee Table to add balance. We love the rounded shapes on the coffee table, which contrasts nicely with the material! Chunky Round Woven Basket We are suckers for baskets, and we think a room is never complete without one! This Chunky Round Woven Basket from Target is perfect for storing extra blankets, pillows, or anything you’d like to be tucked away! Scalloped Grasscloth Nightstand Speaking of storage, we added this precious Scalloped Grasscloth Nightstand to this scheme. This chest adds both functionality and style. We love the scalloped and gold details. Rattan Arched Wall Mirror For the walls, we wanted to continue the warmth with this Rattan Arched Wall Mirror from Target. It ties in the wicker from the baskets and the curves from the furniture pieces. Large Wall Art Set To bring in more softness, we added these Ceramic Wall Flowers. Warmer temps have us dreaming of spring, and inspiring us to refresh our spaces! We’ve put together a colorful, inviting living room based around our new favorite pattern: Ticking, Fern. Ticking, Fern is a part of our newest launch, and we couldn’t be more obsessed! It’s a beautiful combination of a rich, olive-toned green, and muted blue. We created our Ticking line to be added into a space effortlessly. The Milla Chair Our chic Milla Chair is perfect for both style and comfort. The Ticking, Fern is perfect for these seats! We added a Como, Robin’s Egg welt to add a pop of contrast and bring out the blue in the pattern. Adding a contrast welt also elevates the design to feel even more custom. The velvet helps to bring in some texture to this room. Edie Rectangular Rattan Coffee Table The Edie Rectangular Rattan Coffee Table from CB2 adds some warmth. The gold details on the legs add a subtle touch that we just love! Gusto Tole Flowers Decorating coffee tables can be daunting, so we opted for these Gusto Tole Flowers from Get The Gusto. Each metal flower is hand painted. Palm Mirror To finish the room off, we added a beautiful Palm Mirror from Target!
