Coley Home Spotlight: Huff Harrington Design

Meet the creatives behind Huff Harrington Design! Recently featured in The Atlanta Home For The Holidays Show House, we adore their fresh yet traditional spaces. They masterfully blend the old with the new and we love following along to see what they're designing next. Read on to see how they styled their Coley Home piece in the show house. Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today!  Trudy was born and raised in Piqua, Ohio, though people are often surprised I’m not a born and bred Southern belle. I currently lead Huff Harrington Design as Lead Designer, where I bring a refined design sensibility, thoughtful approach, and a little optimism to every project. Before fully stepping into interiors, I honed my spacial design skills through l leadership roles with brands including Gap, Spanx, and Serena & Lily. Frequent trips to France – where I assist with international design projects and installations – have shaped my signature approach: blending old and new with a playful, unexpected twist. Outside the office, you’ll often find me strolling Chastain Park with my handsome Lab, Beau, or enjoying a lively dinner out with my husband, glass of bubbly in hand. Emma Caroline Lee has spent years with Huff Harrington honing her eye through countless design projects. Prior to that she tackled the world of luxury PR launching fine art, fashion and hospitality brands in Atlanta. While her heart lies with traditional themes she loves to create a mix and to elevate designs through fabrics and custom pieces, building a story around our clients’ existing furnishings. Her love of classic and traditional design is a perfect complement to the Huff Harrington mix of antique and modern. When she’s not designing, you can find her spending time with her adorable young family or traveling. One of the most meaningful parts of our work is connecting with clients. We take the time to really listen, understand their stories and the pieces they love, and translate their vision into spaces that feel personal, sophisticated, and always chic. You recently selected 2 Twin Claremont Beds - Charles with a fabulous brushed fringe. Walk us through the design process! One of the elements that grounded the design of the room from the very beginning was a fabulous imported antique settee we found in the South of France. Its sassy curves immediately set the tone, so it was important for us to find bed frames that echoed that curvy softness – the Charles did just that. As with any successful space, the devil is in the details. We had the most fun marrying the bed frames and settee through coordinating fabrics - ultimately choosing a stripe for the beds to bring in a tailored note. To soften the structured stripe - and of course adding a touch of unexpectedness - we finished the headboards with a brushed fringe trim from Samuel & Sons. Layered against the Farrow & Ball high-gloss walls, the subtle movement and texture was the perfect final touch, elevating the beds while tying the entire room together beautifully.  The Claremont bed - Charles How would you describe your style? Classic at its core, with a deep reverence for both contemporary and antique influences.  You have a design branch in both Atlanta and Paris. Do you often try to incorporate European influences throughout your design projects in the US?  It truly works both ways – we’re constantly inspired by both sides of the pond. That said, there’s something especially compelling about incorporating a piece of French history into our state-side projects. A beautiful European antique has an effortless way of adding depth, soul and a bit of “crunch” when layered into a modern or traditional home. We always aim for a home that feels classic and lived-in.   If you had to pick one, what is your favorite project to date?    That’s a difficult question, as each project is deeply personal to each client. Knowing their story, understanding the heirlooms they cherish, and creating designs that reflect their lives make every project meaningful in its own way. What aspect of Parisian lifestyle do you adopt in your everyday life?   I’ve always admired the ease of the French lifestyle – lingering over meals, choosing quality over quantity, and treating everyday rituals as small indulgences. And of course, there’s the skincare… a daily reminder that a good cream can, in fact, solve almost everything!  What’s a wallpaper or fabric you are dying to use in a project?  Tough question because there are so many that are on our radar but I recently stumbled across the most adorable wallpaper by Jordan Connelly  that would be the perfect addition to a  family vacation home. Favorite coffee table book? Well, at the moment , we are gushing over the most recent Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle magazine because Huff Harrington Design made the cover! What is your most requested design feature?   ‘The Mix’ of new  & old The mix – layering new with old to create spaces that feel collected, not decorated. It’s about balancing contemporary pieces with character-rich antiques to achieve spaces that are timeless, personal, and truly lived-in.

Coley Home Spotlight: Megan Molten

Meet Megan! Based in Charleston, SC, she's the Founder and Chief Creative Director of Megan Molten Design + Shop. With her signature mix of modern flair and Southern charm, Megan creates bright, welcoming spaces that feel like home. We’re obsessed with her eye for detail and love how she brought her Coley Home favorites to life in her serene, family-friendly living room. Tell us about yourself and your journey to a successful interior design business and storefront! I studied business and marketing in school and, right out of college, landed a great job in medical sales. I spent 12 years in that industry, which gave me the opportunity to purchase my first home on my own. When I started designing and decorating my home, I shared the process on social media, and to my surprise, people loved it! I never realized I had a distinct style until I started receiving such a positive response. Around that time—when I was 31 or 32—many of my friends were also buying their first homes and asking for my help. We were all working with tight budgets, but I documented every project, sharing before-and-afters on social media. Again, people really responded to my aesthetic, and that’s when it started to click for me—I truly loved design. I never imagined it would become my career, but as I started taking on paid clients in addition to my full-time job, I realized: Wait, this is what I love. My corporate job? Not so much. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Charleston was booming, especially during COVID, and people were moving here in droves. I was able to establish a strong brand and a signature design aesthetic, which has been key to our success. It’s authentic to who I am and what we do, and I think people are drawn to that. Today, we have a luxury interior design business serving Charleston and beyond, as well as a retail store—both a brick-and-mortar location and an online shop. We’ve also expanded to include a warehouse where we manage our online store and house merchandise for our design clients. And beyond that, we have licensed collections in lighting, mirrors, wallpaper, and more to come! What’s your starting point when designing a living room? Do you typically begin with furniture, color, or something else? Lately, we’ve been starting with wallpaper, paint, or a fabric print because clients are craving color more than ever. Once we establish that focal point, the rest of the room naturally falls into place. How do you find the balance between aesthetics and functionality when designing frequently used spaces like living rooms? These days, performance fabric is a must. Almost all of our clients expect it on their upholstery—it’s just become standard. The great thing about working with a designer is that we have access to an incredible variety of high-end performance fabrics that aren’t available to the average consumer. So, we can create spaces that are both beautiful and incredibly durable. Our clients have kids, grandkids, pets—they live an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, especially here in Charleston. Everything we design has to stand up to that while still looking stunning. It’s all about finding that perfect balance of style and function. What is one design element or trend you always try to incorporate into your projects, no matter the size or scope? When clients hire us, they expect creativity and personalization. It’s our job to push them beyond their comfort zone and introduce ideas they wouldn’t have considered on their own. That’s part of the value we bring! We don’t want to do what everyone else is doing—we want to create something fresh, unique, and exciting. What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? Lighting—splurge always! It’s like jewelry for your home. You want the real thing, not the knockoff. There’s a noticeable difference between good lighting and bad lighting, and if you cut corners here, it shows. For key spaces like kitchen pendants, dining room chandeliers, and powder bath sconces, invest in high-quality lighting—it makes all the difference. But in areas like guest rooms, guest baths, and kids’ rooms, you can save by opting for stylish but more affordable options, like Mitzi lighting. Another area where you should never skimp? Upholstery. Your main furniture pieces—your sofa, your chairs—these are things you use every single day. It’s like a mattress; you want it to be high quality, comfortable, and built to last. Other categories can go either way. With wallpaper, for example, you can splurge on grasscloth or save with vinyl. For rugs, wool is a luxury option, but polypropylene can be a great budget-friendly alternative. It’s all about knowing where to invest and where to cut costs. What are your go-to places for inspiration when designing new spaces? Our sample library is a huge source of inspiration. We receive so many incredible materials—wallpapers, fabrics, finishes—and we’re always waiting for the perfect project to use them in. I also love drawing inspiration from a project’s location. For example, if we’re designing a home in the Bahamas, we take in the colors of the palm leaves, the ocean, the sand, and think, Oh my gosh, this is the perfect project for that lime-green palm print wallpaper we’ve been dying to use! Color is such a huge part of our design process, especially in Charleston, but exploring other places and seeing how different environments influence color is a really fun way to get inspired. What are your favorite Coley Home pieces to incorporate in a living room? The Upholstered Bennett Sofa—hands down! We’re actually using it in a project right now with Lilly Pulitzer and Lee Jofa. It’s upholstered in the new Lilly fabric, and we added the cutest little skirt to give it a fresh, modern take on a traditional shape. It’s perfection. I also love the Loza Chair. We’ve used it in a few projects now—it’s big, cozy, and oversized but still has that modern silhouette. That’s what I love about Coley Home—they take classic shapes and reimagine them in a fresh, modern way. Plus, everything is made in North Carolina, which our clients love.

Coley Home Spotlight: Caroline Boykin

Meet Caroline! Based out of Raleigh, NC, Caroline creates the most incredible artwork, from intricate paintings to delicate sculptures. Read on to learn all about Caroline and how she styled her Coley Home pieces. Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are today! Hey Coley Home! I am Caroline Reehl Boykin, a fine artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina and my work is inspired by the spirit of everyday life. For the past 15 years I have had the honor of creating artwork for clients all over the world. My paintings are filled with elements of nature, architecture, and form using many mediums. I find that unique color interactions within my paintings capture viewers and bring them into a conversation of life and movement. Through the use of porcelain, acrylic paint, and gold and silver leaf, I paint multi-dimensional works that transcend a subject and allow the viewer to decipher meaning. I have always loved to create. My childhood on the Alabama coast cultivated my enchantment with art and southern culture. Touches of this admiration for Southern hospitality and grandeur are seen today flowing through my paintings. While in college, a summer of studying figure drawing in Florence, Italy led me to the realization that being an artist was in my bones. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!!) where I focused on ceramics, but I have always had a true passion for all mediums in art. Today I am blessed to have my studio right here in my home so that I can jump between businesswoman and momma easily. My husband, two girls, and bulldog, Blue, provide me with as much support as they do inspiration to my paintings! Caroline's Website How would you describe your artistic style in your own words? My work is rooted in the rituals of everyday life - morning light, the scent and shapes of flowers from our garden, my girls' infectious giggles, or an ice-cold martini my husband makes me after a long week. These moments are sacred rhythms woven into my paintings. I think my artistic style is a nice combination of Modern and Feminine. How do you approach mixing color and texture in your pieces? Color and texture are such important aspects of my work! In my Le Pointe collection, mixed color combinations are the foundation and the starting point of each painting. Once the squares of color are chosen for the painting, I then come back with more colors but in small marks to create a dance between the squares. When mixing the paint for these marks, I whip my paint to a frosting-like consistency to create little dots of texture. This mesmerizing texture creates the smallest shadows that move throughout the day as light moves across the painting. Caroline used a pair of Bongo Stools in COM (Customer's Own Material) to create the perfect accent pieces for her living room! Where do you personally look for inspiration? Everywhere! Small and simple moments inspire me most as of late. There is beauty surrounding us always, we just have to take the time to find it. This is what I want the viewer to feel when taking in my artwork. To admire the painting with an exhale and to get lost in a memory. I find myself within each scene of my Pout paintings. Do you have any tips for mixing art with furniture and decor in a room? My only tip is to purchase art that you love, and not just because it matches your couch! I find a home much more inviting and beautiful when it is filled with interesting art. What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? My favorite places to splurge and save are the same - antiques! Sometimes you find the save of the century in an antique chandelier or the biggest splurge in an antique Klimt sofa. Whether a splurge or a save, antiques are always necessary. Is there anything more fun than the thrill of the hunt? Most treasured piece in your home (besides your own art)? We have the cover of my great grandmother's bible framed and hung in our kitchen. My great grandmother Leavie, whom my oldest is named after, was born in the late 1800s and I inherited her bible which was so loved and used that it was held together by duct tape. We (very carefully!) took off the cover that is inscribed with her name and framed it in a gorgeous antique frame. It brings me so much joy to see it every day, a sweet reminder of my beloved family and what a matriarch looks like. What is your favorite spring or summer recipe? Food or cocktail! So many! We love to eat in my house! In the spring and summer, it’s anything made with in-season produce from our local Farmer's Market. We also love a skinny Piña Colada for a fun cocktail/mocktail around the pool. It's just blended coconut water, a little pineapple juice, pineapple chunks, and ice. When my girls aren't partaking, a splash of rum makes it even tastier! Thanks, Caroline!

I always have sunglasses, my wallet, a lipgloss and a few extra pacifiers in my bag to get me through the day.  Favorite winter/cold weather recipe (dish or cocktail, your choice!) Meet Jamie Kirkman, founder of Jamie Kirkman Interiors! Jamie takes a pragmatic and creative approach to her designs, incorporating custom furnishings, special collections, and curated art. With over 25 years of experience, Jamie has perfected her design techniques and was recently featured in the Atlanta Home For The Holidays Show house. She featured Coley Home chairs in the dining room and we are obsessed with how they turned out! Read on to see how she styled her Coley Home pieces in the show house. Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today! I've always been drawn to creating spaces that feel both beautiful and lived in, and my path into interior design began through hands-on learning and mentorship. Today, my approach is all about understanding my client and their personalities, how they move through their homes, and what matters most to them. I believe the best design reflects who you are while elevating your everyday life. I feel incredibly fortunate to do work I'm passionate about alongside clients who trust me with their most personal spaces. You recently selected (6) Evans Dining Chairs in COM with Mont Blanc, Blush Welt, and Bleached Oak Finish, as well as (2) Evans Dining Chairs in Miller, Taupe with a Mont Blanc, Blush welt, and Bleached Oak Finish for your Dining Space in the Atlanta Home for the Holidays Showhouse. Walk us through the design process!  The lines of the Evans chairs were exactly what I wanted for the showhouse dining chairs. We then selected fabrics that could stand out against other beautiful features in the room while complementing the chairs' style. The geometric pattern on the COM chairs worked perfectly with the small scale of Miller Taupe, while the Blush Welt tied the chairs together to create a cohesive design. The Evans Dining Chair - COM The evans dining chair - Miller, Taupe with a Mont Blanc, Blush welt Do you have any tips for selecting the perfect COM for a space?  When choosing COM fabrics, I focus on the room's function first, selecting options that are both beautiful and durable enough for daily use, helping clients find something they truly love and that suits their lifestyle. How would you describe your style?  I'd describe my style as refined organic luxury. I love layering natural elements like wood, stone, and greenery with sophisticated details like brass fixtures and sculptural lighting. I aim for spaces that feel both curated and livable, while reflecting the client’s personality and lifestyle. What is the most important detail when designing a dining room? Lighting is everything. It sets the entire mood for gathering and entertaining. Beautiful ambient lighting that makes everyone look and feel their best. The table should allow for comfortable conversation with chairs that are comfortable enough that guests actually want to sit in for hours, and the overall space should encourage people to linger and feel the atmosphere. What is your favorite space that you have designed in your personal home?  I love our primary bedroom. It's calming and restorative, designed as a true sanctuary with minimal furnishings and a soft, soothing palette. What are your go to places for inspiration when designing a new space? I love flipping through design books and following European interiors on Instagram for fresh perspectives. What is your favorite coffee table book? John Derian Picture Book There's something about his eye for beauty in the overlooked that really resonates with me. Thank you, Jamie!

Walk us through the design process!  I’ve loved flexing my interior design muscle—especially with the help of my friend Emily Ehrhardt of Emily Ehrhardt Interiors—to turn our house into a home. I get a lot of styling questions from my followers and send links to my belts and other outfit polishing pieces daily.  What’s one niche holiday decoration you can’t live without? I purchase a fresh, beautiful oversized wreath every year. It’s something timeless and instantly sets the tone for the season without feeling overdone but still elevated.  We have to ask! What’s currently in your bag?  Oh gosh, a full mix of things! I always have sunglasses, my wallet, a lipgloss and a few extra pacifiers in my bag to get me through the day.  Favorite winter/cold weather recipe (dish or cocktail, your choice!) I am not the chef in my household but my husband makes these really yummy bacon wrapped dates that are always a hit!

Meet Jamie Kirkman, founder of Jamie Kirkman Interiors!

Coley Home Spotlight: Cathy Rhodes Interiors

Meet Cathy Rhodes of Cathy Rhodes Interiors! Cathy is a fabulous designer who was recently featured in the Atlanta Home For The Holiday’s Show house. We loved hearing about her design process and the small details she uses to make her spaces spectacular. Read on to learn how Cathy styled her Coley Home pieces!  Tell us about yourselves & how you got to where you are today! I started my design firm in 2001 and have been designing elegant homes in the southeast ever since.  With an MBA from Vanderbilt and 9 years in corporate finance I decided to turn my weekend hobby into a career. You recently selected The Claremont Bed - Monarch, the Dakota Dining Chair and The Shiitake Ottomans in your space in the Atlanta Home for the Holidays Show House. Walk us through the design process! My inspiration for this guest bedroom was my two grown daughters who now live in NYC.  Thinking about redesigning my daughter’s childhood bedrooms into more sophisticated guest bedrooms that they look forward to coming home to stay in.  I wanted to create a tranquil oasis for my daughters and other guests.. Lavender is such a calm color and is wonderful for a guest room because its somewhat unexpected.  I selected the Galbraith and Paul Fern pattern first and worked with Liz Galbraith to custom color the fabric in the perfect shades of lilac and lavender.  And then we found two other Galbraith and Paul fabrics that we could add in touches of soft greens and blues. Selecting a beautiful bed was next.  The scalloped Claremont Bed was perfect because the scallop detail added the feminine touch I was looking for.  Upholstering it in Holland Sherry’s velvet mohair gave it the coziness I envisioned.  The Dakota Dining Chair works beautifully as a desk chair.  And the Shiitake Ottomans are just fun and can go anywhere in a room.  I have used them in many clients’ homes and just love them.  They are fun at the foot of this bed but can also be pulled into a dressing room or a dressing table or used as an ottoman with your favorite reading chair. What is your favorite thing about designing for a  show house? How is it different from designing for clients? Show houses are an opportunity to truly display your creativity without any restrictions.  It's the chance to do something a little daring and unique. What is your starting point when designing a bedroom?  For a bedroom I always start with a beautiful fabric that can set the tone for the room.   What is a small detail you always include in bedrooms you design?  I always include a pretty long pillow on the bed in addition to the shams. What are your go-to places for bed linens?  Gramercy Home is my favorite.  They carry many beautiful bedding lines including Matouk and Sferra and they are so easy to work with. Where do you splurge vs. save in the bedroom? I usually splurge on the drapery and the decorative bedding because it has the biggest impact on a bedroom.  If we need to save then I like to save on the sheets by buying simple white sheets to go with the pretty decorative duvet and shams.  What is your favorite space in your home?  My favorite space in my home is my dressing hall because its my pretty little retreat from the rest of the house and I love starting my day there. What is a design trend you hope stays forever? Lucite!  I love lucite pieces because they add a modern touch when you need it to a traditional space and its the ideal material when you need something that is not too heavy and will not take away from other things in the room. Just like the lucite etagere in this guest bedroom. What is your favorite coffee table book? The Decorated Home by Meg Braff.  The photos are beautiful and the way she wrote about each project feels like you are sitting in her living room have a casual conversation about design.  She’s a great college friend of mine so I love seeing how her personality shines through in her book. Thank you, Cathy!

Coley Home Spotlight: Garden & Grace

Meet Crystal! Based in Charlotte, NC, with her husband and three children, she’s the creative behind Garden & Grace—your go-to for elegant, classic home and garden inspiration. We love her traditional yet effortless style! Read the blog to learn all about Crystal and how she styled her Coley Home pieces in her little boy's bedroom.  Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start Garden & Grace?  Hi! I’m Crystal Moore, founder of Garden & Grace, a lifestyle brand focused on classic living. My biggest joy is being a mom to three young kids and sharing this life with my high school sweetheart and husband of 10 years in our hometown of Charlotte, NC. With an unconventional path, filled with a career in healthcare administration, I started Garden & Grace during covid as a creative outlet and with no real business plan. But as the daughter of a home builder and a lifelong architecture enthusiast (heightened by my time living in Birmingham, AL and Chicago, IL), I’ve always loved everything about a home and what it represents. Almost 4 years later,  I still pinch myself that I get to share this passion with the Garden & Grace community. You recently redecorated your son’s room. Walk us through the design process!  We moved into our home two years ago, right before I had my third, and my oldest son’s bedroom was such an afterthought. I knew I would want to go back and give him a proper room and finally got around to it just shy of his 6th birthday! I started with combing through inspiration I had saved through the years and noticed  a recurring theme of Americana-style rooms. So I started with a framed vintage American flag and tattersall rug, two quintessential design elements to define the room.  I used those elements to select the fabric for my son’s  Coley Home headboards and from there layered on bedding, lighting and other decor.  Get the Look The Twin Crown Headboard - Charles in Nola, Blue with Belgian Linen, Dark Blue Welt Shop Now What advice do you have for anyone who might be in the process of redecorating a kids’ room?  Designed by Clary Bosbyshell Start with the pieces that you can’t stop thinking about and build your design from there. And don’t get caught up in creating the perfect room with everything you see in a room on Instagram or Pinterest. Most are staged and designed without a budget. Remember, kids will use their room so design it with that in mind! Finding a reliable contact for a home project can be challenging. How do you go about sourcing professionals for your Trusted List of Home Experts? Designed by Anne Pearson Design, Photography by Dustin Peck Photography The Garden & Grace Directory was born out of the constant request from followers for good, reliable home professionals in their cities. It’s now a trusted source with over 45 professionals recommended by a trusted designer, friend or that I’ve personally used. It’s all about curating a mix of professionals for any project all that exemplify honesty, quality work and align with the Garden & Grace style. It’s still new (just over a year old!) so I’m excited to see how it continues to grow and be a trusted source for home projects. Interested companies can apply here. What is your most requested product from your followers? Designed by Whitney Sturge Interiors, Photography by Dustin Peck Photography Lighting! Whether a side table lamp, pleated lamp shade or pendants over a kitchen island, it’s a popular topic and one I love to share!  What are your favorite areas to splurge when decorating your home, and favorite places to save? Design by Caroline Gidiere Design Design by James Farmer Inc, Photography by Upholstery and rugs, hands down. I like to buy those new and to last. They anchor the room and everything else falls in around them. I usually source accessories and artwork from antique malls and estate sales – which can lead to some really good deals and unique pieces! Favorite spring recipe? My signature dish, year round but especially this time of year,  are deviled eggs. I add a touch of dijon mustard, finely chopped dill pickles and sprinkle with paprika to top them off.  They always go fast!

Coley Home Spotlight: Elizabeth Rees with Chasing Paper

Meet Elizabeth, one of the founders of the Chasing Paper! Chasing Paper creates beautiful, high-quality removable and traditional wallpaper. While they're best known for their incredible collaborations, Chasing Paper just launched their first in-house collection of wallpapers - and we couldn't be more obsessed! Read on to learn all about Elizabeth and her fabulous company. Tell us about yourself and the incredible company you have built? I’m Elizabeth Rees, the Founder of Chasing Paper.  I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan, spent my 20s and 30s living in Washington DC, Paris and NYC.  I launched Chasing Paper in the sparkling twinkle of New York City but its roots were always in the Midwest, having always produced the wallpaper here in Milwaukee, and brought the business back in 2018.  It was then, that my younger brother Mike, came on board full time and the company really started to spread her wings - we made a big investment into our website, adding traditional stock wallpaper (meaning the kind you use paste with!) and started intentionally building and our trade program.  Since then we have been focused on what we do best – creating one of a kind collections with partners with personality and point of view – our hope is that once one of our prints gets into your mind it will be impossible to settle for something else. Biggest wow moment at Chasing paper? We had a big milestone birthday last year - 10 years in business.  A decade working slowly and surely along - we have had so many exciting moments along the way from being covered in the New York Times, celebrities using CP in their homes, being invited to speak about Chasing Paper all over the world…but mostly now its being able to show my young daughters what it means to work hard and love your job.  It’s such a gift to lead my amazing team and get to do a job that fuels my creativity everyday. How would you describe your design style? I think as I get older I love traditional motifs and foundational elements but layering with more modern elements such as art, fabrics and textures. You recently added two of our Marian Swivels to your home. Walk us through the design process of the room The first thing that drew me to the Marian Swivels was the depth of the seat - I very much wanted these to be chairs that were not only beautiful but a place that was comfortable to spend time in.  With the room being so long and narrow we needed substantial chairs and these fit perfectly.  I also loved being able to add a contrast welt!  The fabric has a lot of natural dimension and texture to it already which I love - it’s a solid that almost has the look of a subtle print and the maroon welt accentuated the stunning lines of the chair and also picked up the warmth of the details of the room.  The quality of the chairs blew me away - nearly everyone who comes into our home asks about them! Get the Look The Marian Swivel in Ringo, Sapphire with Ringo, Plum Welt Shop Now If you had to pick one, what is your favorite wallpaper you have ever created?   We actually just launched our first collection that our team designed - we just celebrated 11 years in business so it's quite funny that we have spent the last decade licensing and only started to dip our toe in design until recently. That said, our Heritage Stripe is a personal favorite because having been in wallpaper for so long, I thought that there wasn’t possible to do a stripe in a way that hasn’t been done but I really love what we came up with! We wanted a stripe but in a softer, more delicate way - we loved the idea of mimicking a lacelike detail that you might find when crocheting.  A nod to our Grandma Jane’s tables at Easter, but done in a more modern Ikat hand.  What is your favorite room in your house?  I love our living room - it feels like a cozy hotel lobby. A mix of prints and patterns and textures create an atmosphere that transports you and also encourages you to read or chat or relax a little longer. Favorite areas to splurge and save when designing a home? Being in the world of wallpaper of course I am drawn to wallpaper and fabric - I believe that investing in small textile artists brings such a special story to a home - brings art, print and color into a home in such a special way.  Favorite paint color at the moment? I am currently working on a project with a Sunbury Yellow kitchen which I am thrilled about!  It’s a jolt of color but has some green undertones that I think gives it a more natural feel – I am just not a white kitchen girl (or white wall for that matter)! Go-to places for design inspiration? Travel - big cities or small towns - all equally inspiring to me.  Travel has gotten a touch harder to do independently with a young family but I try to tack on a day or afternoon to work trips to walk the streets of NYC, LA or Chicago – pop into museums or eat at a beautiful restaurant. 3 favorite Instagram follows at the moment? The Lawns, Summer Thornton Designs and Fermoie. Favorite place to travel with your husband and Favorite place to travel with kids?  We are still in our infancy with travel with the girls since they were both born in pandemic times - but last year we went to New Mexico and stayed at Los Poblanos and it was truly magical - the farm, the animals, the incredible food and things to do on property was the perfect speeds for a family with young kids.  I also grew up going to my grandmother’s home in Snowmass, CO and I took my girls last summer for our first ever girls trip (a tradition I hope to keep the week before school starts) and we sent the week finding our own little groove in the mountains away from schedules and work – spending our days exploring and making art.  It was incredible to see a familiar place through their eyes. Favorite book or TV show? I just finished Hello Beautiful which I loved!  Also anything Kristen Hannah!  I have always been an avid reader - but lost the ability to finish books while I had babies - I couldn’t remember what I read (ha!) and have absolutely loved getting back into it.  The girls and I do weekly library visits after school and keeps me reading.

Coley Home Spotlight: Nichole Blough & Spoonflower Showroom

Meet Nichole! Based in Raleigh, NC, Nichole recently designed the new Spoonflower Showroom with Coley Home pieces. We love how this space came together with the beautiful fabrics she chose from Spoonflower. Read on to learn all about Nichole and Spoonflower! You were tapped to design the Spoonflower showroom in their corporate office, and used Spoonflower’s vibrant, colorful fabrics on several of Coley Home’s pieces. What were some of your main sources of inspiration for the showroom? I love sourcing from Spoonflower- it’s a designer’s dream. Anything you can imagine; you can pretty much find. Every design process looks a little different, and in this case, I began by looking through Spoonflower patterns to see what inspired me in their Marketplace.  I started with probably 100 prints, that I loved in a collection, and slowly narrowed it down based on the space. For the dining room, I wanted it to be bold but classic. Something that was true to both Spoonflower's roots and my design style. Spoonflower What drew you to use Coley Home pieces for the space? Walk us through the design process! Coley Home is always a go-to for me, as a designer. I love the variety of shapes and sizes- and swivel chairs are such a staple in my designs- Coley Home has the best swivel chairs. The fact that Coley Home is local to NC, easily customizable and fast shipping- all also played a big part in our decision to incorporate Coley Home pieces in the design. The Spoonflower Showroom has no shortage of color and pattern! Any strategies for creating coherent spaces while mixing colors and prints? Don’t think too much about it! Pattern mixing is one of my favorite things to do as a designer- it keeps things interesting. My rule of thumb generally is to try to incorporate a small and large pattern – I love (too much) a good pinstripe and block print. If you had to choose a star of the showroom, which Spoonflower print/Coley Home piece would you pick? What comes to mind first are the dining chairs- I had so many compliments on them. The fabric design by Spoonflower Artist Danika Herrick pattern reads really well with the lines and shape of the chairs. They are also unique for dining chairs- something you don’t see every day. Compared to your typical residential projects, how did you approach this project differently? Honestly it was a dream project! Endless fabric, wallpaper and print options and a team behind you that understands good design (and what all goes into good design). I would do it all day every day! The Spoonflower team was wonderful to work with. How do you think this amazing new showroom will change the experience for Spoonflower’s local customers? It gives Spoonflower customers a firsthand look at how products can be applied in real life- which they otherwise might not be able to experience or see. When I look at Spoonflower, I often think of bright/fun patterns that might be used more playfully, but this project really shows sophisticated Spoonflower products truly are. Coley Home Spotlight: Amanda Khouri

Meet Amanda! Based in Nashville, TN, Amanda recently started her own interior design firm where she skillfully blends the old and the new. We love how she mixes patterns to create intricate spaces. Read on to learn all about Amanda! Tell us about yourself! I am an interior designer in Nashville, TN, where I live with my Husband, my 9 month old son, and our mini labradoodle. Aside from oogling over every new cute facial expression my little guy makes, there is almost nothing I’d rather be doing than hunting for antiques and unique art and objects at estate sales, auctions, local shops, flea markets, the side of the road, etc. I’m on a constant search for beautiful things! I’m also excited to have recently opened a new interior design firm, Amanda Khouri Interiors. I was a part of a wonderful business partnership (Murray Khouri) for 5 years, and it was really bittersweet to leave that behind, but it’s refreshing to be starting something new that is my own. I’m in the process of moving into a new studio space here in Nashville where I’ll be working alongside some other creatives in the industry whom I really respect and I couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this next chapter in my career. How would you describe your design style? I love spaces that look and feel like they’ve been lived in for years even if they were just recently completed. They’re collected, colorful, not too contrived, warm, interesting, contain elements of the unexpected, and have a certain je ne sais quoi. Those are the qualities I aspire to incorporate into the spaces I’m creating. Stylistically, this can take several different directions, but with those attributes as the base layers, I think many different styles can be done well. You recently designed the most beautiful nursery for your baby boy and used the Slipcovered Hadley Swivel Glider! Walk us through the design process of the room. I really wanted this space to walk the line between being playful enough for a little one, but not to feel too “baby” or too precious. I love doing kids rooms that have an eye toward what the child might be interested in five or ten years down the road, so that there aren't major changes that need to be made to turn the space into a “big boy/girl” room. I love green and brown, and couldn’t resist an entire room full of it. The first component selected was the wallpaper which came from Waterhouse – a wonderful company with a treasure trove of archival documents. They custom colored this english mural scene for me, and I adore the way it turned out. My little guy loves pointing out all the animals. The curtain fabric is also from Waterhouse and is such a fun bold moment. It’s called “Moroc”. Next up was the need for a durable, comfortable rocker – thank goodness for the Hadley Swivel Glider! Truly the perfect piece - we have loved how comfortable it is, and the fabric (Coley’s Ringo in Bay) has held up incredibly well. It’s very rare to find a high performing linen, and Coley has done the job with Ringo. From there, I pulled colors from the wallpaper and created a custom rug with Angie Burge, the wonderfully kind owner of English Village Lane. She worked with me to get the scale for the pattern I drew, and of course the colors, just right. The rug is actually now available for purchase through English Village Lane – just look for the “Hanky Panky”! Finally, I opted for an antique chest to bring a bit of age into the room. I hope my little guy grows up with great memories of this magical little space – and even if he doesn’t, we all know it was really for me anyway, and I sure have loved it! Get the Look The Slipcovered Hadley Swivel Glider in Ringo Bay Shop Now Any tips for creating a children’s bedroom that they can easily grow into? I suggest choosing mature patterns for the larger, more permanent components of the room like the wallpaper and curtains, and leaving the really sweet patterns for pillows, the crib skirt, even lampshades. Those things can be swapped out when it’s time, and will completely change the personality of the room when the time comes, even if the large pieces stay the same. Favorite paint color at the moment? I am itching for a reason to use Farrow and Ball India Yellow – I have a feeling it will make an appearance in my house or studio sometime soon. Go-to places for design inspiration? When possible, being out in the wild visiting places I haven’t been before – but the rest of the time, I love sitting with a great design book and really studying the details. Favorite coffee table book? This is changing constantly, but right now I’m very into David Netto’s new book and his deep knowledge of the provenance of the antiques he uses in his projects. It’s a true education. Dream travel destination? I’m always dreaming of Harbour Island, but right now Villa Palladio in Jaipur and Hotel Il Pellicano in Italy are really calling my name. Favorite book or TV show at the moment? My husband and I love a good dose of nostalgia every now and then and are re-watching the West Wing at present. We’re also taking in many more children’s board books than adult books these days, but I’ve got Tom Lake by Ann Patchett waiting for me on my nightstand, and I’m looking forward to diving into it – have heard wonderful things!

Meet Natalie! Based in NYC, we can’t get enough of her effortlessly chic style. Read the blog to learn all about Natalie how she’s styled her new apartment, and more! Tell us about yourself! Hi! My name is Natalie Simkins, I’m 27 years old and just moved to New York City this past month to take my styling business/content creating from a hobby to a full time job. I have a Cavapoo named Hank who has honestly adjusted to city life quicker than I have! You recently moved to New York, and brought along our Slipcovered Hadley Sofa. Walk us through the design process of your new apartment! I feel so lucky that I was able to bring my new slipcovered sofa with me to the city. It anchors the room and I feel so at home already. I didn’t have a ton of options as far as the orientation of the sofa/other furniture but it all worked out and I feel like it was literally made for this apartment. I also had a loveseat which I already owned covered in the same fabric as the Hadley Sofa and I was able to bring that too! Get the Look The Slipcovered Hadley Sofa in Beckett, Snow Read More After your big move, do you have any space saving suggestions for New York apartments? My first course of action was to minimize and purge items that I didn’t need. It’s really easy to make a New York apartment feel cluttered, so I had to be careful with what decorations/accents I wanted to bring with me. Amazon has been great for finding different organizers - I got this incredible shoe holder that fits like 40 pairs of shoes! Your style is absolutely effortless. Where are your favorite places to shop at the moment, both online and in New York? Thank you so much! I feel like the answer to this changes almost every season, but the websites I browse the most are ShopBop, Staud, Reformation, JCrew, Veronica Beard, & Zara. I’m definitely missing a few! I’m big on mixing highs and lows, there are certain things I’m willing to invest in more than others (shoes, bags, jeans) because I know I’ll wear/use them over and over. I have a hard time investing in major statement or trendy pieces. If you’ve got on a fabulous pair of shoes and a bag you love, you can never go wrong with jeans and t-shirt. Go-to places for interior design inspiration? Most of my interior design inspiration comes from Instagram or magazines! I think Megan Stokes has done a beautiful job decorating her new home and feel like our interior design style is similar. I’m also a huge fan of  the account @lilysvintagefinds. I love combining antique/vintage pieces with more modern pieces. It just makes your space more unique and the antiques add a level of warmth/coziness. Favorite coffee table book? I have multiple Slim Aarons coffee table books; I'm obsessed with his work. I also love Aerin Lauder’s “Entertaining Beautifully.” Favorite book or TV show at the moment? My favorite book I’ve ever read is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. I read it 4 years ago and still think about it. Apparently they’re making it into a movie! I’m rewatching the original Sex and the City (because duh) and I truly forgot how good it is; I am flying through it! Dream travel destination? Walk us through the design process of the room! Our family room is the main gathering place of our home, especially with 3 boys under 8. I wanted a sectional that encouraged movie nights on the couch but could also hold up against fort building and cuddling up with our chocolate lab, Bear. The Bryant Corner Sectional was the perfect size for our space, so comfortable and most importantly easy to keep clean in the chaos! Get the look The Bryant Corner Sectional in Beckett, Snow Shop Now Go-to places for interior design inspiration? Pinterest and instagram are usually my favorite sources for home inspo! You have a house full of 3 boys! What are your best tips for finding calm the chaos and going with the flow? Motherhood has been an incredible lesson in lowering expectations and letting kids be kids. The less I try to control, the more enjoyable our lives operate. It is really easy to feel overwhelmed by the chaos but I always try to remind myself that this is exactly what I’ve always wanted. The reality is that having young kids is a short season of life and I know I’ll miss the mess! Favorite recipe? I’m a tequila, soda with a lime wedge and orange wedge girlie. All About Libeco Linens

We sat down with Megan from Libeco to chat all things linen! Learn all about the incredible mill, cleaning, sustainability, and more! We can't wait to see what you create with these incredible fabrics. Watch the complete interview Libeco’s History Along with the deep tradition of linen grown in Belgium Can you tell us about Libeco and its long history? Our Belgian Linens are woven by Libeco, a 5th generation family owned company that has been in business since 1858. Building on centuries of expertise using artisanal processes, Libeco has an extensive Quality Control process that only accepts goods within a certain range of deviation and is always striving for perfection. What is linen made of, and how is it made? Linen is made of flax, the strongest natural fiber available, second only to hemp. It is a hollow fiber which absorbs 20% of its own weight in water before it feels wet. This allows for exceptional drying properties. Linen fiber/flax has a luster that no other natural fiber has. It is simply beautiful. Why is the best Flax in the world grown in Belgium? The climate of the Flanders region in Belgium is ideal for growing flax and results in the longest and strongest fibers in the world. The region gets the perfect amount of sun and rain each day, resulting in a temperate climate with perfect soil. Sustainability and Chemicals Around ⅕ of all water pollution comes from textiles dyes. I know sustainability and the environment is very important to Libeco. Can you tell us a little more about this? Flax is a wonderful fiber that is kind to the environment. During the growing process it does not require any irrigation or pesticides. Every part of the plant is used – from the lint to the seed. At Libeco, no residual chemicals are used when creating, dying, and finishing the fabric, and they use low impact dyestuffs from the highest quality providers. Only non-toxic, hydrogen-based bleaches are used during the bleaching process. All water used throughout the process is returned to the Lys river cleaner than when it was drawn out. Every product that leaves the mill is OEKO-TEX® certified C6 and C0 are common types of performance finishes that are applied to the fabric. Can you tell us a little about the transition from C6-C0 and why is it important? Do you feel that C0 works as well? Are any other chemicals used in Libeco Linens? After new legislation was passed in several states, the textile industry began the shift from C6 to C0. The difference between the two stain repellents is that C6 repels both water and oil and C0 only repels water. No doubt C6 works better but C0 is much better for you and will still give you time to blot the stain away before it sinks into your fabric. The 4 qualities we run from Libeco and why we love them -Design and Color- Why do we love our Belgian Linen? Our Belgian Linen is a classic piece-dyed linen. It has been a staple at Libeco for generations. It has a classic softened pre-shrunk finish which creates a very subtle sheen. Available in 3 different colors. Why do we love our Ringo? We fell in love with Ringo's performance properties and vibrant color options. Coley Home offers Ringo in 12 different colors, making it our largest color line. Ringo is pigment dyed which creates a beautiful heathered effect. Ringo is also pre-shrunk and has a C0 stain repellent, making it great for a well lived in home. Why do we love our Reynolds?  We love the thickness of Reynolds and offer it in two colors. The lime color is what really sold us on this construction. It is a color that we just could not resist. The way it drapes on slipcovers is unmatched. Just like Ringo, it is also a pigment dyed fabric which creates a beautiful heathered effect.  Why do we love our NEW linen Stripe? Coley Homes exclusive Linen stripe is worth the wait and will be in our line for years to come! It is classic and timeless. This thick twill weave is yarn dyed and is available in 4 different colors. What is a piece-dyed fabric versus a pigment-dyed fabric? When a fabric is piece-dyed, the fabric is woven and the whole piece of fabric is dyed at once. Pigment dyed is when the dye sits on top of the fabric instead of fully embedding the fabric. It is then adhered with a binder. Think about a carrot versus a radish. A carrot is orange all the way through while a radish only has color on the outer layer. Cleaning and Care This is a HOT topic as all of our customers are very interested in fabrics that are easily cleanable. Can we walk through the best ways to clean linen in general? Any pro tips? Professional washing is always an easy labor-free option. We recommend this for larger slipcovers that might not fit well in a home washing machine. That being said, one of our favorite things about our linen is that it is easily cleanable at home as long as you follow the proper steps!  Home Laundering steps: Washing Place your slipcover (fully zipped) into your laundry machine. Please make sure you do not wash it with anything else, and that you do not overload the machine. Linen absorbs a lot of water and needs sufficient room to wash properly. Use cool water, up to 100 degrees F Use detergent without enzymes or whiteners. Enzymes will wear down your fabric and eventually cause holes. Pro tip: Always make sure your slipcover is properly serged inside before washing. Coley Home serges all of our slipcovers, but not all companies take care to do this step in the sewing process! If a slipcover is not properly finished, it might fall apart in the wash. Drying Tumble dry on low until the slipcover is partially dried. While the slipcover is still partially damp, place the slipcover back on the piece or hang dry. Ironing the fabric will help the fabric grow and give a more tailored “like new” look. Pro tip: If you accidentally shrink your slipcover too much, wash it again and the linen will grow again. Ironing will also help the slipcover grow. Spot Cleaning For small spills and spots, you can spot clean by following these steps below:  Treat the spot as quickly as possible Soak up all the liquid with a paper towel. Rewet the spot with water and repeat. If needed, dab a tiny amount of dish soap onto a wet cloth and continue to press into the spot. Do not rub! Never use bleach, spot pens, detergents with enzymes or harsh cleaners. Never rub your fabric. A few more tips from Meagan at Libeco Linens:   “When washing linen, always remember twice the amount of water and half the amount of drying time!” “Linen is meant to be lived in and enjoyed for years to come” A Party trick: “If you happen to spill red wine you could counteract it by pouring white wine over it”

Meet Megan! Based in Charleston, SC, we love her fresh yet timeless style. We can’t get enough of her beautiful, classic taste in interiors and other fabulous finds! Tell us about yourself! Hi! I’m Megan. My husband and I live in Charleston, SC and have a 7 year old son, a 6 year old daughter, and a 4-month old baby boy! We also have an 80lb golden retriever and a cat, so it’s a very full and lively house! I started blogging over 10 years ago and continue to adore sharing all about our life and my interior decorating adventures on my website and on Instagram! How would you describe your design style? Southern traditional meets vintage Bahamas. You recently completed your gorgeous dining room and used our Dressmaker Camden Dining Chairs in our new Nomad, Cloud fabric. Walk us through the design process and other fun elements in the room! I fell in love with an Iksell wallpaper, so that started it all. But it has so much brown in the paper that my brown wooden chairs just no longer worked. I really wanted to include a pop of color to brighten and liven the space, which is when I turned to Coley Home!  The Nomad Cloud fabric was the perfect thing! It’s also a performance fabric, which allows us to use and love the chairs without worrying about a big mess. We are in love with the Camden Dining Chairs silhouette. They are so fresh and classic! Get the Look: The Dressmaker Camden Dining Chair in Nomad, Snow with Italian Blend, White Welt Shop Now You are essentially a pro at moving now! Any tips to make the process go as smoothly as possible? Somehow we keep finding ourselves moving from one adventure to the next, but we love it! The most vital tip I have is to enlist the help of a family member, neighbor, sitter, or whoever you can to keep your children occupied, should you have little ones! Keeping them out of the way and happy is such a game changer. But outside of that, the best practice I have is that I keep our home edited all throughout the year. Every week, I pick at least one space to organize and clean out, so it really helps to keep clutter to a minimum. Doing one space, (whether it’s a room, a closet, or a drawer) at a time makes it totally doable and allows us to never feel overwhelmed with “stuff.” And this constant practice saves me when it comes to moving because everything is pretty much always ready to be put in a box! Design-wise, which room in your new home are you most excited about? The kitchen! It has a 20ft wooden ceiling and looks out to the Charleston harbor, which is definitely one of our happy places. Favorite areas to splurge when sourcing for a home, and favorite places to save? Splurge on custom fitted rugs that really fill out a room. They make such a difference! I think you can save on drapery as long as you install it to look custom… there are so many sources, even Amazon, where you can get full width/full length drapery panels, rings, and curtain rods for such a steal. Splurge on nice performance fabrics for your upholstered items, like sofas and chairs, because they will continue looking nice for so much longer. Definitely save on home accessories… Target and Homegoods are gold mines for this kind of thing! Get the Look:  The Milla Swivel in Ringo, Bay with Ticking, Harbor Welt Shop Now Favorite wall paint color at the moment? Benjamin Moore Simply White. It’s so fresh, never stark, but also feels warm at the same time. We used it for the exterior of our last home and just had the entire interior painted in this color over at our new house! Go-to places for design inspiration? In terms of print, I'm a big fan of Frederic and Veranda. Also an avid user of Pinterest still! Oh, and Instagram, of course. I love following my favorite designers and seeing behind-the-scenes looks at their projects. Favorite coffee table book? Gilles & Boissier is such a beautiful book to have out on a table. Favorite book or TV show at the moment? My husband and I are big fans of American Idol! We rediscovered it a handful of years back and always look forward to it each new season. There are not many shows we watch together, but that is one of them. Dream travel destination? South Africa, the Holy Land, Indonesia… to name a few!
